About the job

The Carrier Manager is responsible for building strategic, long-term partnerships with key transport providers across international and multimodal operations. Acting as DHL's main point of contact for carriers, this role drives performance, resolves escalations, identifies risks, and ensures service quality, capacity, and cost efficiency.

What you'll do

  • Develop strong, trusted relationships with key carriers and promote long-term strategic partnerships.
  • Lead carrier performance reviews using KPIs and SLAs, ensuring clear follow-up and improvement actions.
  • Manage negotiations, operational escalations, service commitments, capacity, and costs.
  • Identify risks, trends, and improvement opportunities across the carrier network.
  • Define and support the carrier strategy in collaboration with Operations, Planning, Procurement, and customers.
  • Translate performance data into concrete actions and strategic decisions.
  • Evaluate and onboard new carriers, ensuring compliance with DHL and customer standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement across the transport network to enhance service, efficiency, and reliability.

What we're looking for

  • Fluent English and availability to travel.
  • Academic background in Logistics, Supply Chain, Freight Forwarding, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in logistics operations within an international multimodal environment.
  • Strong experience in strategic carrier or supplier management, negotiation, and relationship development.
  • Proven ability to manage carrier performance through KPIs, SLAs, business reviews, and improvement plans.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, influencing, and problem-solving skills.
  • Analytical, proactive, and business-oriented mindset.
