What we're looking for

🎓Intermediate/Advanced Degree in Culinary Arts and Gastronomy or similar. Food Handler's License.

💼Minimum 1 year of experience in the role in a 5-star and luxury segment environment. Experience with Leading Hotels of the World, Preferred Hotels & Resorts, or similar is valued.

🗣💬English: valued. Other languages are a plus.

🖥🖱Microsoft Office package.

The role

🔔 We are offering a Kitchen Assistant position to work at El Fuerte Marbella, the first hotel founded by the company. It opened its doors in 1957 and, after a complete renovation, reopened in 2023 as a 5-star hotel.

El Fuerte Marbella, located on the beachfront in the center of Marbella, offers impressive sea views along the promenade and the Mediterranean, and is just a 5-minute walk from Plaza de los Naranjos. With 266 rooms combining casual luxury and a cozy atmosphere, without sacrificing spectacular Mediterranean views.

What you'll do

You will be responsible for preparing and assisting the chef in the preparation of dishes, following their instructions for the correct preparation of the final product.

Your day-to-day will look like this…

Ensuring the achievement of the established departmental goals, as well as compliance with critical processes and area operations, in accordance with the hotel's standards.
Verifying the quality of the product used to prepare the dishes.
Planning preparations in advance to be carried out, in order to provide the best possible service.
Cleaning, peeling, and cutting food for the preparation of garnishes.
Preparing the simplest dishes following the technical sheet, checking product quality and caring for the presentation established by the organization.
Supporting the Chef in the preparation and cooking of dishes, guaranteeing a final product of quality.
Assisting with the setup, maintenance, and dismantling of the buffet service.
Cleaning your workstation and work table, leaving the kitchen clean and ready for the next service.
Storing received products and preserving them properly, ensuring the cold chain is not broken.
Placing and organizing food in the refrigerated units and cleaning them to ensure hygiene and product preservation conditions.
Ensuring the proper use of kitchen equipment, checking and controlling that no issues arise and reporting them if they do.
Assisting with the preparation of the list of products that have suffered shrinkage.
