Enterprise Architect - Banking

• More than 8 years of experience in technological architecture, enterprise architecture, or transformation initiatives.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in CIB (Corporate & Investment Banking) or Wholesale Banking.
• Demonstrable experience defining Reference Architectures, Target Architectures, and/or Transition States in complex environments.
• Experience in one of these areas:
  • Application Landscape Rationalization
  • Platform Consolidation
  • Technology Modernization
• Ability to perform Current State → Target State analysis.
• Cross-functional knowledge of application, data, integration, cloud, resilience, and cybersecurity architectures.
• Experience working with complex application ecosystems and portfolios.
• Ability to develop and challenge architectures in a practical way. We are looking for a hands-on profile, not exclusively focused on governance or coordination.
• Experience preparing architecture proposals and recommendations aimed at decision-making.
• Minimum B2 English, with a C1 level being highly valued, with the ability to lead meetings, deliver presentations, and work with international interlocutors.
• University degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or similar.

• Deep knowledge of a CIB / Wholesale Banking domain or of cross-functional platforms in the financial sector.
• Experience leading global or cross-domain transformation initiatives.
• Experience evaluating Buy / Build / Reuse strategies.
• Analysis of market solutions, vendors, and TCO (Total Cost of Ownership).
• Experience in transformation and modernization processes of large technological portfolios.
• Previous experience in technology consulting environments.
• Knowledge or experience related to AI applied to technological environments and enterprise architectures.
• An MBA or postgraduate training in Finance, Technology, or related areas will be positively valued, although it is not an essential requirement.

At GFT, we are looking to hire an Enterprise Architect with solid experience in technological architecture and transformation within the financial sector, especially in Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) or Wholesale Banking environments.

We are looking for a senior profile, with a strategic vision but also highly oriented toward practical architecture work, capable of analyzing complex technological ecosystems, defining target and reference architectures, and converting them into clear recommendations that enable transformation decisions.

The position requires regularly working with international teams and stakeholders, so a minimum B2 level of English is required, with C1 highly valued.

📍 Location: Boadilla del Monte (Madrid). The position has a hybrid work model and requires availability to go to the office several days per week, so we are looking for professionals located in Madrid.

• Define reference architectures, target architectures, and transition states for different capabilities and domains.
• Analyze the current technological architecture and ecosystem to identify the main differences regarding the target model.
• Evaluate application and platform portfolios, identifying duplications, fragmentation, obsolescence, dependencies, risks, and consolidation opportunities.
• Define technological modernization strategies, application rationalization, and platform consolidation.
• Analyze the impact of architecture decisions on applications, data, integrations, cloud, resilience, and cybersecurity.
• Define recommendations on the evolution of applications and platforms: adoption, consolidation, migration, investment, maintenance, or retirement.
• Evaluate Buy / Build / Reuse alternatives, market solutions, and vendors, considering aspects such as integration, maturity, and TCO.
• Prepare recommendations and documentation that facilitate decision-making by technological and business managers.
• Lead architecture forums and sessions with CIOs, technological managers, and other senior stakeholders.
• Constructively challenge existing architectures, legacy models, and platform strategies, proposing evidence-based alternatives.
• Translate architecture decisions into potential transformation initiatives, considering benefits, complexity, risks, and dependencies.
• Work with EUCs and AI-enabled local solutions, defining their fit within the target architecture.
• Collaborate with international teams and different business and technology domains.
