About the role

From the Editorial division of Grupo Planeta, we are looking for a Senior Editorial Designer for our Art and Design department.

What do we do in the Art and Design department?

At Planeta Art & Design we create covers for some of the most recognized Spanish-language publishing houses. Our work has been recognized with several Laus Awards, and we share the same way of understanding design: curiosity, passion, and rigor for books.

What will your mission be?

You will mainly design covers for non-fiction books from imprints such as Planeta, Ariel, Crítica, and Península, accompanying each project from the initial idea through to production. In addition to design, you will take on art direction for those projects that require it, collaborating with illustrators, photographers, and other artists to find the best visual solution for each book.

What will your day-to-day look like?

  • Conceptualize and design covers.
  • Art direction, coordinating collaborations with illustrators, photographers, and other creatives.
  • Manage multiple publishing projects simultaneously, ensuring quality and meeting deadlines.
  • Create graphic materials to support the launch of titles.
  • Work alongside the Editorial, Marketing, Communications, and Production teams to bring each project to life.

What we're looking for

What would we like to see on your CV?

  • Training in Graphic Design, Art Direction, or related disciplines.
  • At least 5 years of experience, preferably in editorial design or cultural projects.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, especially Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • Intermediate or higher level of English.
  • A portfolio is essential.

You would be a good fit if you consider yourself a person with...

  • Conceptual ability, typographic judgment, and a keen attention to detail.
  • Autonomy, initiative, and ease of working in a team.

What you'll get

What do we offer you?

  • Be part of one of the most recognized editorial design teams in the industry.
  • Work on projects with national and international authors and for some of the most relevant Spanish-language publishing houses.
  • Permanent contract and full-time hours.
  • Opportunities for development through our training plans and internal talent programs.
  • Exclusive discounts and promotions (training, publishing houses, Casa del Libro, etc.).
  • A complete benefits package (flexible compensation, health insurance, transportation, etc.).
