Android Product Engineer

At idealista, we are looking for an Android Product Engineer to join our technology team.

If you enjoy working closely with the product, understanding why we do what we do before you start building it, and navigating comfortably between technical and non-technical profiles, keep reading.

What will you do?

• You will be integrated into a product journey, with real responsibility for the features in your area: from understanding the problem with PM and UX to seeing it in the hands of users.

• You will use AI tools regularly in your workflow: from accelerating development tasks to improving the quality of what you deliver.

• You will also deal with bugs, legacy code, and difficult technical decisions. That doesn't change.

What do we expect from you?

This is what matters most to us:

• You have real experience working in a product-oriented environment: you have participated in decisions, not just execution.

• You communicate well: with team members, PMs, QA, and UX. You ask questions, explain things, escalate when necessary, and do so in a way that people understand and trust.

• You are able to manage multiple fronts at once without losing context: you know how to prioritize, ask for help when appropriate, and maintain visibility on what you have in progress.

• You use AI naturally in your daily routine, not as an experiment: to develop faster, review code, explore alternatives, document, or whatever you find useful in your workflow.

• You have your own judgment: you don't just execute what you are told; you also propose, question, and defend your arguments.

Technically:

• Kotlin is your primary language and Android your usual environment.

• You know the best practices of modern Android development and apply them, even if you are not a purist.

• You can read and work with legacy code without being paralyzed by it.

What other things are a plus?

• Sensitivity to the UI side and experience working with design systems.

• Experience with large-scale multi-module apps.

• You have worked with CI/CD pipelines.

• You have experience with event tracking (Piano, Tealium).

• You are interested in other platforms or disciplines: iOS, backend, data analytics.

• You have worked with multi-platform technologies (KMP, React Native).

• You understand testing and value it as part of the work, not just as a formality.

Si te gusta trabajar cerca del producto, entender por qué hacemos lo que hacemos antes de ponerte a construirlo, y moverte bien entre perfiles técnicos y no técnicos, sigue leyendo.

¿Qué harás?

• Trabajarás integrado en un journey de producto, con responsabilidad real sobre las funcionalidades de tu área: desde entender el problema con PM y UX hasta verlo en manos de los usuarios.

• Usarás herramientas de IA de forma habitual en tu proceso de trabajo: desde acelerar tareas de desarrollo hasta mejorar la calidad de lo que entregas.

• También tendrás bugs, legacy code y decisiones técnicas difíciles. Eso no cambia.

¿Qué esperamos de ti?

Esto es lo que más nos importa:

• Tienes experiencia real trabajando en un entorno orientado a producto: has participado en decisiones, no solo en ejecución.

• Te comunicas bien: con compañeros de equipo, con PM, con QA, con UX. Preguntas, explicas, escalas cuando toca, y lo haces de forma que la gente entiende y confía.

• Eres capaz de gestionar varios frentes a la vez sin perder contexto: sabes priorizar, pedir ayuda cuando procede y mantener visibilidad sobre lo que tienes en marcha.

• Usas IA de manera natural en tu día a día, no como experimento: para desarrollar más rápido, revisar código, explorar alternativas, documentar, o lo que encuentres útil en tu flujo de trabajo.

• Tienes criterio propio: no solo ejecutas lo que te dicen, también propones, cuestionas y defiendes tus argumentos.

Técnicamente:

• Kotlin es tu lenguaje principal y Android tu entorno habitual.

• Conoces las buenas prácticas del desarrollo Android moderno y las aplicas, aunque no seas purista.

• Puedes leer y trabajar con código legacy sin que te paralice.

¿Qué otras cosas son un plus?

• Sensibilidad por la parte de UI y experiencia trabajando con sistemas de diseño.

• Experiencia con apps multi-módulo a gran escala.

• Has trabajado con pipelines de CI/CD.

• Tienes experiencia con marcaje de eventos (Piano, Tealium).

• Te interesan otras plataformas o disciplinas: iOS, backend, data analytics.

• Has hecho algo con tecnologías multiplataforma (KMP, React Native).

• Entiendes el testing y lo valoras como parte del trabajo, no como trámite.
