What we're looking for

Proven experience in an IT Service Owner, Application Manager, Application Support Lead, or Service Management role.
Strong understanding of enterprise applications built on Java/Jakarta EE platforms, application servers, and Oracle databases.
Experience managing incident, problem, and change management processes in complex enterprise environments.
Hands-on experience with monitoring and operational tools such as Splunk, Tivoli Monitoring, or similar platforms.
Experience coordinating application releases, deployments, and environment management activities.
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills across application, integration, database, and infrastructure layers.
Ability to manage stakeholders effectively and communicate clearly with both technical and business audiences.
Experience coordinating cross-functional teams during incidents, service disruptions, and critical production activities.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple operational activities simultaneously.
Understanding of ITIL principles and service management best practices.

Nice to have

Experience supporting applications running on JBoss EAP, WildFly, or similar enterprise middleware platforms.
Familiarity with enterprise scheduling, batch processing, and end-of-day operational processes.
Experience with configuration management and deployment tools such as Octopus Deploy.
Knowledge of messaging and integration technologies, including JMS and enterprise messaging platforms.
Experience coordinating Disaster Recovery testing, security assessments, and compliance-related activities.
Understanding of database refresh, masking, and anonymization processes.
Familiarity with integration testing coordination across multiple teams and environments.
Experience working in Agile and cross-functional international environments.
Technical background in software development or application support within enterprise Java ecosystems.

We are seeking an experienced IT Service Owner to join our team in Madrid. In this role, you will be accountable for the operational health, stability, and performance of a business-critical application ecosystem built on Java/Jakarta EE, JBoss EAP, Oracle, and Angular technologies.

You will act as the primary owner of the service, coordinating with business stakeholders, development teams, infrastructure teams, and external providers to ensure reliable operations, effective incident resolution, successful releases, and continuous service improvement. The ideal candidate combines strong application support experience with excellent stakeholder management, analytical thinking, and a proactive operational mindset.

What you'll do

Own the operational performance, availability, stability, and continuous improvement of the application landscape.
Manage and coordinate major incidents, problem management, root cause analysis, and service restoration activities.
Act as the primary point of contact for business stakeholders regarding service health, risks, and operational issues.
Coordinate L3 support activities and collaborate with development teams on complex technical investigations.
Monitor applications, interfaces, jobs, and integrations to ensure reliable day-to-day operations.
Lead analysis and troubleshooting across upstream and downstream systems and external dependencies.
Coordinate application deployments, configuration changes, and production releases using established delivery processes.
Coordinate Disaster Recovery exercises, penetration testing activities, and production readiness reviews.
Support database refresh, data anonymization, and non-production environment management activities.
Drive service improvements through monitoring, trend analysis, automation, and operational best practices.
