At Mercadona Tech, the innovative spin-off of Mercadona dedicated to transforming the online shopping experience for supermarket products, we are looking for an SRE to join our Tech Hub in Valencia.

In the context of a digital product project, we understand that the true value lies in ensuring our customers are as satisfied as possible with our service, and that is only possible thanks to the products developed by our colleagues from other verticals.

As part of the Platform team, your role will be key to guaranteeing the stability, security, and efficiency of the technological ecosystem. Your mission will be to support product teams from the technical base, facilitating their autonomy and delivery speed.

• Provision and maintain the infrastructure necessary for the optimal functioning of our applications.

• Manage observability tools that allow teams to monitor and diagnose their services in real time.

• Automate deployment processes, ensuring speed and reliability in every delivery.

• Develop proprietary solutions with a product focus, adapted to the real needs of the teams.

• Foster technical autonomy of the development teams, offering self-managed and well-documented platforms.

• Apply Extreme Programming practices to guarantee quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

• Actively participate in the day-to-day of the verticals, collaborating closely with other product teams.

• In 1 month

You will get to know everything about the Mercadona Tech project that the public does not see. You will go to our Colmena (the warehouse where we prepare our orders) so you can experience our preparation and distribution processes firsthand. Additionally, you will receive many introductory talks about our infrastructure, services/microservices, and the teams that maintain and develop them.

You will also have some time to create some simple functionalities from scratch to understand our development pipeline.

• In 3 months

You will already be settled and working. You will know how we work, you will have met all of us, and you will know us all by name. You will actively participate in everything that happens. Dailies, plannings, groomings, kick-offs, demos, and retros are part of our team's rituals, but everyone chooses when and how to do them.

• In 6 months

You will understand the SRE team's vision, why we do things the way we do, and what our objectives are. At this point, you will have much to contribute, you will understand what the priorities are, and you will be able to make informed decisions. Additionally, as a valuable member of the team, you will have participated in defining your team's common objectives. The rest of the team will have had time, will know you better, and may even dedicate some memes to you.

• But... how can you get there?

From day one, you will work hand-in-hand with your buddy, who will support you in setting up your computer, accessing the necessary tools, and integrating into the team. After completing our onboarding process and being ready to work autonomously, you will continue to receive constant support and guidance from the entire team.
