The CDO (Chief Digital Officer) area of Telefónica Innovación Digital (TID) is responsible for designing, developing, and operating high-impact digital products and platforms that serve millions of Telefónica Group customers worldwide. As a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), your mission will be to improve the reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency of production cloud platforms through automation, observability, and the application of sound engineering practices.

You will work alongside development and operations teams to incorporate resilience principles from the initial stages of the service lifecycle, contributing to platform stability and the continuous improvement of operational processes.

  • Designing and evolving observability strategies using metrics, logs, and traces with tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.
  • Managing cloud infrastructures on GCP, AWS, and/or Azure, ensuring availability, security, scalability, and cost optimization.
  • Automating processes and infrastructure using Terraform and Helm to reduce manual tasks and improve operational efficiency.
  • Collaborating on incident resolution, escalations, and the improvement of operational procedures.
  • Working with development teams to embed reliability, resilience, and operability best practices from the design phases.
  • Participating in on-call rotations, incident response, and postmortem analyses focused on learning and continuous improvement.
  • Contributing to the adoption of SRE culture and the evolution of reliability practices within the team.
