Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) - CDO Area

• A degree in Computer Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or related fields.
• More than 5 years of experience in SRE, Platform Engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure engineering roles in critical production environments.
• Solid experience in administering OpenShift platforms and OpenStack environments.
• Experience in resilience engineering, disaster recovery, capacity planning, or chaos testing in production.
• Knowledge of hybrid environments integrating on-premise infrastructures with AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Microsoft Azure.
• Experience with GitOps practices using tools such as ArgoCD or Flux.
• Certifications related to OpenShift, Kubernetes, or cloud platforms (CKA, Red Hat OpenShift, AWS, GCP, or Azure).

The CDO (Chief Digital Officer) area of Telefónica Innovación Digital (TID) is responsible for designing, developing, and operating high-impact digital products and platforms that serve millions of customers of the Telefónica Group worldwide. What will your mission be? 🎯

As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), your mission will be to ensure the reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency of production platforms through automation, observability, and the application of good engineering practices. You will work to continuously improve service stability, reduce manual operational tasks, and ensure that systems are prepared to grow and respond to business needs.

Additionally, you will collaborate closely with development and operations teams to incorporate reliability principles from the initial design phases, lead incident management, and contribute to the evolution of the platform architecture.

How will you contribute to the purpose of the role with your skills? 💼

• Defining and evolving observability strategies using metrics, logs, and traces with tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.
• Administering and maintaining on-premise infrastructures based on OpenStack and OpenShift, including provisioning, updates, and hardware lifecycle management.
• Automating processes and infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform and Helm) to eliminate repetitive tasks and improve operational efficiency.
• Participating in critical incident resolution, on-call rotations, and postmortem analyses focused on continuous improvement.
• Collaborating with development teams to improve the resilience, security, and operability of applications and platforms.
• Leading technical decisions related to architecture, scalability, availability, and operational readiness.
• Defining and monitoring SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets to support data-driven decision-making.
• Driving capacity, resilience, and disaster recovery initiatives.
• Mentoring other engineers and fostering an SRE culture within the organization.
