Requirements

What we're looking for

Between six and ten years of general accounting in a company, with at least one full closing cycle under your responsibility.
Real experience in multi-currency, intercompany operations, stock, and fixed assets.
Advanced handling of an ERP. If it is Odoo, even better; if not, a desire to learn it thoroughly.
Judgment to supervise the work of others without formal hierarchy from day one.
Internal control mindset: that it makes you uncomfortable when a number doesn't balance and you want to know why.

The role

What you'll do

Be the owner of the monthly closing and of the balance sheet integrity. Currently, the closing is prepared and reviewed by the same person, and at this size, that has ceased to make sense.

General accounting. Banks, personnel costs, fixed assets and depreciation, intercompany invoices, stock, and inventory variation.
End-to-end monthly closing. Calendar, execution, review of all records, and issuance of the profit and loss statement. The goal is to close within five business days.
Balance sheet control. Systematic and documented reconciliation of all accounts, with working papers that anyone can review.
Supervision. Reviewing the work of the two people managing the revenue and expense cycles, and providing coverage for both during their absences.
System. Functional ownership of the accounting in Odoo: chart of accounts, reconciliation rules, digitization of supplier invoices, and the integration of payment gateways, which is the big project we have ahead of us.

How you'll work

We are a young team based in Barcelona, but we are a remote-first company. We meet in person once or twice a week, although you can also be fully remote if you prefer, with no strings attached.
