Product Designer (UX/UI)

• At least 3 years designing digital products (web, app, or internal tools). We want to see in your portfolio how you think: the process and the decisions, and not just pretty screens.
• Figma at an expert level and experience building or maintaining design systems.
• Experience conducting interviews and usability tests, and you know how to change your mind when users tell you to.
• You feel comfortable using artificial intelligence tools.
• Technical sensitivity: you understand how what you design is built (HTML/CSS, components, states, limitations) and you have worked with design systems. You won't be coding, but we need you to understand developers and for them to understand you.
• Excellent communication in Spanish and English (we are global, so bilingualism is key).
• "Ego-free" mindset: at Octopus, ego is the enemy. We care about what works, not whose idea it was. If a design doesn't work, it gets thrown in the trash and we start again.

We are looking for a Product Designer (UX/UI) to join our Tech team. We build the tools, automations, and products that make Octopus work: what our teams use every day and what our customers will see. Building fast is not enough. What we build has to be easy, clear, and pleasant to use.

You will live within Tech, side by side with PMs and developers, and you will work very closely with the Design team so that every screen breathes the Octopus brand. We are looking for someone who acts as a bridge: someone who speaks both the tech language and the brand language, and who always defends the person on the other side of the screen.

• Design from end to end: from understanding the problem to the final UI.
• Bring the brand to the product: together with the Design team, apply and evolve our guidelines in digital environments, and build and maintain a component system for Tech.
• Work closely with Tech: prototype fast, perform clear handoffs, and review that what is built adheres to Design guidelines.
• Simplify without fear: in energy, everything tends to be complex (bills, rates, contracts). Your job is to make sure it doesn't look that way.
• Research with real users: talk to our customers, and sit down with our customer service, marketing, and operations teams to see how they work, conduct interviews and usability tests, and translate what you have learned into concrete decisions.
