About the role

Within the Nueva Pescanova Group, we are looking for a Fleet Technical Director for the Southern Africa region, reporting to the South Africa Business Director (Juan Magdalena), based in Namibia (Lüderitz).

Mission
To lead the practices of the Fleet Technical Department in Southern Africa, through the planning and monitoring of fleet repairs and renewals (Namibia/Angola), under the guidelines of the Business Director, and with the aim of ensuring cost control and maximum fishing efficiency.

What you'll do


Functions and responsibilities

1. Plan and monitor fleet repairs and renewals.

  • Develop the fleet repair plan for all countries.

  • Plan the coordination of fleet repairs with the involved areas.

  • Actively and physically supervise major repairs, conversions, and current repairs.

  • Analyze technical inefficiencies and establish an improvement plan.

  • Implement technical fleet renewal projects in coordination with the areas.

  • Plan and develop improvements, innovations, and propose technical solutions to increase fleet performance, in collaboration with institutions and suppliers.

3. Develop the fleet repair databases.

  • Develop a technical repair database where fleet repair costs are controlled.
