Autoclave Technician - Composite Materials

As an Autoclave Technician, you will be responsible for executing, monitoring, and controlling composite material curing cycles in the autoclave, ensuring compliance with process parameters (temperature, pressure, and vacuum) and established quality requirements. Your role is key to ensuring the structural integrity and final properties of the parts.

Prepare the autoclave load:

​or connection of vacuum lines

​or installation of thermocouples

- Verify the correct preparation of tooling and vacuum bags before curing.

- Execute curing cycles according to specifications (temperature, pressure, and vacuum curves).

- Monitor and record parameters during the cycle:

​or temperature

​or pressure

​or vacuum

- Detect and manage deviations or incidents during the process.

- Unload the autoclave and safely handle cured parts.

- Ensure traceability of each cycle (records, data, part identification).

- Collaborate on the validation of curing cycles with Manufacturing Engineering.

- Perform basic equipment maintenance:

​or checking valves

​or cleaning

​or checking sensors

- Comply with safety regulations, especially regarding pressure equipment.

- Maintain order and cleanliness in the work area according to 5S standards.

Education

- Specialization Course in Composite Materials in the Aerospace Industry (RD1153/2021), preferably.

- Technical training (Vocational Training or equivalent in industrial processes, mechanics, or composite materials).

Experience

- Experience in operating autoclaves or thermal processes (valuable).

- Experience in a regulated industrial environment (aerospace, automotive, etc.) is valuable.

Technical knowledge

- Composite material curing processes (prepreg)

- Interpretation of curing curves (ramps, dwell, pressure)

- Vacuum systems and thermal control

- Handling of instrumentation (thermocouples, sensors)

- Process traceability and documentation

- Safety regulations for pressure equipment

Skills

- Rigor and precision in process execution
