Head of Architecture

• Solid senior experience in architecture and in people leadership, within banking, asset management, insurance, or any highly regulated sector.

• A track record of leading—or participating very closely in—end-to-end technological deliveries.

• Solid knowledge of TOGAF or equivalent architecture governance frameworks.

• Good command of technological risk, cybersecurity, and financial regulation.

• Real executive communication skills: you will be defending decisions before the CTO, CDO, and business committees.

• Fluent English and Spanish, spoken and written - a non-negotiable requirement.

At Q-Tech, we are looking for a Head of Architecture for a global asset manager, a subsidiary of one of the major European banks, with over one trillion euros under management and a presence in the world's main financial markets. The company is experiencing a period of heavy investment in technological transformation as a key lever of its growth strategy, and has decided to build a new Architecture hub in Madrid from scratch.

The global Architecture function of this organization is only a year and a half old. This is not about maintaining something already built, but about defining, from a position of real autonomy, how the technology of a top-tier company is designed, governed, and scaled. Now, they are looking for the person to lead that function in Spain from day one.

With the corporate title of Director and reporting directly to the Global Chief Architect, this position covers the entire spectrum of architecture: enterprise, domain, solution, data, and technology. You will define the company's target architecture and transition roadmap, translating business strategy and regulatory requirements into real technological capabilities. You will build the Architecture team in Spain from scratch: hiring, coaching, and succession planning. And you will be the face of Architecture to both the business and technology, with an explicit mandate to challenge the status quo and push for simplification, modernization, and resilience.

Technologically, you will lead the evolution of cloud and data architecture supported by Snowflake and Google Cloud Platform, with a growing component of data governance supported by artificial intelligence. The position is designed to evolve towards a global Architecture leadership responsibility as the operation in Spain grows.
