4+ years of experience in backend development, preferably 5-6 years or more.
Solid experience with Scala.
Scala 2.13.
Play Framework based on Pekko.
Experience with MySQL.
Experience with Redis.
Experience working with AWS.
Knowledge of
- Scala Collections
- Futures
- Immutability
- Pattern Matching
Good knowledge of SQL optimization, indexes, and query analysis.
Experience with Git, Pull Requests, and CI/CD workflows.
High level of English, essential.

Nice to have

Squeryl and/or Doobie.
Grafana / Kibana for monitoring, dashboards, and alerts.
Experience with large-scale distributed systems.
Experience with horizontal scaling in Play / Pekko environments.
Russian or Ukrainian.

The role

At Tecdata Engineering, we are looking to hire Senior Backend Developers specializing in Scala to participate in an international project for the evolution and maintenance of the Sage HCM product.

The project includes the localization of Sage HCM for the UK, automation of implementation processes, Billing & Provisioning, and service activities, including bug resolution and client requests.

What you'll do

Backend development within a multidisciplinary team.
Evolution and maintenance of the Sage HCM product.
Implementation of new functionalities.
Automation of implementation, Billing, and Provisioning processes.
Resolution of incidents and bugs.
Participation in development processes, code reviews, and deployments.

How you'll work

Work mode: 100% remote.
Location: remote.
SBA: 50k
Experience: minimum 4 years; preferably 5-6+ years.
On-call / travel: not required.
Team management: no.
