Senior Financial Controller

• Master's degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA certification or equivalent will be valued.

• More than 6 years of experience in accounting and finance positions.

• Previous experience in Big Four audit firms and/or startups is highly desirable.

• High proficiency in Excel; experience with NetSuite or Power Tools is a plus.

• Great attention to detail, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Demonstrated ability to manage and develop a finance team.

• Valid work permit to work in Spain.

• High level of Spanish and English (minimum C1).

As we grow, we are looking for a Senior Finance Controller to join our team. This role is key to ensuring the company's financial health and operational efficiency as we continue to expand.

The Senior Finance Controller will focus on preparing robust and compliant financial reports, leading the accounting and finance team, and supporting strategic financial planning. The ideal candidate will have a combination of accounting knowledge and broad financial experience, preferably with a background in one of the Big Four and in startup environments.

• Oversee and ensure the accuracy of the annual budget, as well as monthly, quarterly, and annual closings and reports.

• Manage cash flow, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.

• Coordinate and lead the annual audit process.

• Acquire deep knowledge and share expertise on key financial processes, such as:

  • Grants and public funding

  • R&D assets

  • Tax deductions (Tax Lease)

  • Intercompany transactions (intercompany)

  • Prepayments and accruals (prepaid & accruals)

  • SII and tax models (200, 303, 216)

• Assist the CFO in strategic planning and financial modeling (forecasting).

• Implement and manage Excel and NetSuite reports within the finance team's routines.

• Optimize accounting processes to improve efficiency.

• Be the primary user of the NetSuite ERP in the finance area and lead the completion of its implementation.

• Maintain and implement financial tools, including SharePoint, online banking, financial process automation, and Power Tools.

• Provide proactive and practical operational support to the CFO.

• Collaborate closely with other departments to support business objectives.
