What we're looking for

We are looking for people with a Degree in Chemistry, with a PhD in Chemistry, Analytical/Instrumental Chemistry and solid experience in chemical analysis in an accredited laboratory, mastery of instrumental techniques (ICP-MS, ion chromatography, spectrophotometry, etc), method development, laboratory management (minimum 5 years of experience), and participation in R&D projects.

Additionally, in this position, team leadership capacity, customer orientation, and people orientation will be very important, experience in quality systems based on ISO 17025, and competencies for the management of testing laboratories and the execution of R&D activities. Finally, a high level of English is required, both spoken and written, to allow interaction with international customers, collaborators, and partners, as well as participation in projects and proposals of a European scope.

To fulfill this mission, at AINIA we are looking to incorporate into our staff of professionals a:

The person occupying this position will assume full responsibility for the Chemistry Laboratory (within an approximate period of one year), coordinating a team of approximately 17 professionals, mainly laboratory analysts (FPII/FPIII), and guaranteeing the technical, operational, and economic excellence of the activity.

The laboratory develops both analytical service provision activities for companies/public institutions and activities involving the development and improvement of analytical methods and participation in R&D&i projects, primarily in the agri-food sector.

What you'll do

  • Direction and coordination of the technical team, promoting people development, resource planning, and continuous improvement of the activity.
  • Technical supervision of the analytical activity of the laboratory, ensuring the quality, reliability, and traceability of the issued results.
  • Technical review and validation of analytical results, as well as signing reports and analysis bulletins in accordance with the responsibilities assigned within the quality system.
  • Customer service and specialized technical support, including the resolution of inquiries, interpretation of results, and management of incidents related to analytical services.
  • Management of the analytical activity associated with quality control tests, food safety, contaminants, residues, authenticity, and other areas of laboratory operation, primarily in the agri-food sector and to a lesser extent in the environmental, packaging, and pharmacopoeia sectors.
  • Development of new analytical services, including the design, setup, validation, verification, and implementation of methods that respond to the needs of the market and customers.
  • Technical management of the accredited scope of the line in accordance with the ISO 17025 standard, in coordination with the Quality Department, guaranteeing the maintenance of accreditation and compliance with normative and regulatory requirements.
  • Active participation in analytical R&D&i activities, both in projects with companies and in projects funded through regional, national, or European calls, in collaboration with other technological teams at AINIA.
  • Collaboration with the commercial and business development areas to identify market opportunities, detect new analytical needs, and generate value propositions for customers.
  • Monitoring of activity indicators, productivity, quality, customer service, and profitability of the line.
