Requirements

What we're looking for

· You have a university degree in Chemistry, Food Science and Technology, Food Engineering, or related degrees.

· You bring experience in quality control laboratories within the food industry, with experience in olive oil or vegetable oils being especially valued.

· You have practical experience in physico-chemical analysis and the ability to interpret analytical results.

· You have knowledge of sensory analysis and oil tasting, being able to identify attributes and possible organoleptic defects.

· You are familiar with laboratory equipment, calibration, analytical procedures, and traceability of results.

· You have the ability to coordinate teams, organize work, and manage incidents with rigor and autonomy.

· You reside in Granada or the surrounding areas and have availability to work in person.

Nice to have

· Knowledge of official olive oil analysis methods and food quality and safety systems will be valued.

The role

At Paul Marlex, we are collaborating with a consolidated company in the agri-food sector, specializing in the packaging and marketing of vegetable oils, in the search for a Laboratory Manager for its facilities in Granada.

If you have experience in food laboratories, you master physico-chemical and sensory analysis, and you want to take on a key role in product quality control... we are looking for you!

What you'll do

· Supervise the analytical control of the oil throughout the entire production process, from the reception of raw materials to the packaging of the finished product.

· Perform and supervise physico-chemical analyses, as well as tastings and sensory evaluations, to ensure that the oil meets established quality standards.

· Interpret results and control parameters such as acidity, peroxide index, and other relevant indicators to determine product conformity.

· Manage laboratory equipment and instruments, ensuring their correct calibration, maintenance, and the reliability of results.

· Investigate deviations and out-of-specification results, coordinating with the Quality and Production departments to define corrective actions.

· Coordinate and develop the laboratory team, consisting of two people and two interns, driving efficiency and continuous improvement.
