The mission of the DPO- Legal Advisory for Innovation and Artificial Intelligence is to provide specific legal advice on innovation projects, matters related to privacy and the protection of personal data (which includes not only advice but also its governance), the contracting of technology providers, and the analysis of the risks of using Artificial Intelligence and its impact on fundamental rights.

In the Legal Advisory - DPO Department, we are looking to hire a Manager for the Privacy and Artificial Intelligence Office, to join our team to drive and lead the corporate governance of data protection and legal advice on artificial intelligence. The position has a marked strategic nature, with a transversal impact across the entire organization and its group, and combines legal leadership, regulatory vision, influencing capacity, and technical excellence.

Expert in legal matters who advises the entity to ensure compliance with current regulations at all times and to resolve issues that may arise in different areas (commercial, labor, procedural, etc.) and avoid sanctions. The legal advisor may intervene in negotiation processes, advise on procurement, draft contracts, provide policy advice, etc.

What you'll do

Corporate governance of privacy and data protection

  • Lead the data protection governance model, including its evolution, coordination, and reporting to the main bodies of the Entity and the Group.
  • Promote a proactive vision of privacy, integrated into the business strategy and innovation processes, drive and lead continuous improvement and, therefore, the evolution of all existing methodological frameworks in privacy governance (impact assessment methodologies, legitimate interest test, protocols for managing the record of processing activities or managing personal data breaches, among others).
  • Define legal and governance criteria on data protection matters such as managing security breaches, international data transfers, impact assessments, etc. This will involve leading their day-to-day operations to ensure that all these exercises cover and mitigate the risks of the Entity and the group and ensure their compliance with existing regulations and the standards defined by the Group.
  • Ensure the quality and consistency of the legal advice provided by the Privacy Office with a 360º vision.
  • Lead and promote internal training and awareness, the generation of criteria, and corporate culture in privacy and AI.


Artificial Intelligence

  • Lead legal advice on artificial intelligence within the framework of the strategic project to implement European regulations in the Entity, providing support to the areas and, especially, to the Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer.
  • Legally lead the design of the methodologies and protocols that must be implemented within the group due to the application of said regulations and other standards for protecting against risks derived from AI for health, safety, and fundamental rights.
  • Promote and lead innovation projects and AI deployments from a legal, ethical, and compliance perspective.
  • Actively collaborate with technology, innovation, risk, and business areas in the implementation and responsible analysis of AI.

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or Degree in Law.
  • Highly specialized postgraduate training in privacy, data protection, digital law, and/or artificial intelligence.
  • Solid and proven experience (minimum 6 desirable) in privacy, data protection, and artificial intelligence, in in-house legal advisory, law firm, or specialized consultancy.
  • Experience in complex and regulated environments, preferably in the financial sector.
  • Experience leading transversal projects and working with multidisciplinary teams.
