The role

CaixaBank is a socially responsible financial group with a long-term vision, based on quality, proximity, and specialization. It offers a value proposition of products and services tailored to each segment, assuming innovation as a strategic challenge and a differentiating trait of its culture. Its leading position in retail banking in Spain and Portugal allows it to play a key role in contributing to sustainable economic growth.

Within the CIB EVOLUTION area, with direct organizational reporting to the CIB Director, our main responsibility is to design, execute, and support activities that ensure compliance with the CIB Strategic Plan, both in the field of technological evolution, the transformation of people and their teams, and the creation and consolidation of an advanced Business Unit model within the bank's main units that provide services and support to CIB.

The position is integrated into the CORPORATE DEVELOPMENT & PROJECTS team and has the mission of converting data and advanced analytics into concrete levers for the CIB business. We are looking for a profile capable of understanding the priorities of the different CIB areas—revenue growth, business protection, customer experience improvement, operational efficiency, risk management, and decision support—and translating them into actionable analytical solutions.

The position will work closely with CIB teams to identify needs and opportunities, assess their potential impact, prioritize the highest-value use cases, and accompany their evolution from idea to adoption. Likewise, it will contribute to building a specialized data and advanced analytics practice specific to CIB, combining financial knowledge, a transversal business vision, and execution capability on Power Platform, Google Cloud Platform, Salesforce, and generative artificial intelligence.

What projects do we develop?

The main objective of the team into which this position is integrated is to design, develop, and support the execution of initiatives and projects arising from the CIB Evolution program or the CIB Strategy Commission, with an eminently technological and transformational focus. In this context, the position will be oriented toward strengthening analytics and data orientation within the team's initiatives, contributing to identifying opportunities, structuring use cases, developing analytical assets, and exploring the combination of data, automation, and generative artificial intelligence to generate tangible impact in CIB. Among the main functions, we highlight:

    • Explore and apply the combination of advanced analytics and generative artificial intelligence to accelerate analysis tasks, unstructured information exploitation, insight generation, process assistance, documentation, prototyping, and the development of new departmental solutions.
    • Accompany business and support teams in identifying analytical opportunities, helping to translate business needs into hypotheses, metrics, models, visualizations, automations, or actionable analytical products.
    • Contribute to the definition and evolution of the data and advanced analytics initiative roadmap for CIB, identifying application areas, priority use cases, information needs, and opportunities for improvement in the area's processes and projects.
    • Participate in the development of analytical solutions from end to end: understanding business needs, exploratory data analysis, information preparation, metric definition, prototyping, functional validation, and monitoring the impact generated.
    • Develop models, tools, dashboards, automations, and analytical assets based on statistical techniques, machine learning, segmentation, prediction, optimization, text analysis, or natural language processing, always oriented toward specific CIB use cases.
    • Leverage and evolve the technological capabilities used by the team, including Power Platform, Google Cloud Platform, and Salesforce analytics, to build scalable, reusable departmental solutions aligned with corporate technology, data, and governance frameworks.
    • Collaborate with CaixaBankTech, Processes, IT, Data, Risk, Compliance, and other relevant functions to ensure data quality, technical robustness, traceability, explainability, and the responsible use of the developed models, automations, and solutions.
    • Contribute to strengthening a data-oriented work culture within CIB Evolution, promoting best practices in analysis, documentation, component reuse, impact measurement, and the adoption of analytical solutions by user teams.

Minimum requirements

  • Higher degree, preferably in Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Data Science, Economics, Business Administration, or similar quantitative disciplines. Postgraduate training in Data Science, Advanced Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, or related areas will be valued.
  • Experience in the development of advanced analytics solutions, data science, analytical automation, or applied artificial intelligence, preferably in financial, corporate, or regulated environments.
  • Practical mastery of Python and SQL, as well as experience in exploratory analysis, data preparation, visualization, statistical modeling, machine learning, and the generation of actionable insights.
  • Knowledge of common analytical tools and environments, such as notebooks, analysis and machine learning libraries, code repositories, visualization tools, and cloud platforms. Experience with Google Cloud Platform, BigQuery, Looker, Vertex AI, or other equivalent capabilities will be particularly valued.
  • Knowledge or practical experience in Power Platform, especially Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI, for the development of departmental solutions, process automation, and business information exploitation.
  • Knowledge of generative artificial intelligence applications in analytics, including unstructured information analysis, assisted code or query generation, analytical task automation, document exploitation, conversational assistants, RAG, embeddings, or semantic search.
  • Ability to transform business needs into actionable analytical solutions, defining hypotheses, metrics, data sources, validation criteria, deliverables, and impact indicators.
  • Experience in technological or analytical projects with transversal interaction with business, technology, data, risk, compliance, or other corporate functions.
  • High level of written and spoken English, with the ability to participate in meetings, prepare documentation, and maintain conversations with international teams, suppliers, or consultants.
  • Knowledge of the financial business and, in particular, the CIB product portfolio, processes, risks, and strategic priorities will be additionally valued.

Key Competencies

  • Advanced analytical mindset, quantitative rigor, and orientation toward resolving needs through data.
  • Ability to connect business vision, technological knowledge, automation, advanced analytics, and generative artificial intelligence into concrete and measurable solutions.
  • Initiative and autonomy to contribute to building a growing analytical practice, proposing use cases, methodologies, standards, and reusable ways of working.
  • Communication skills to explain results, limitations, and analytical recommendations to non-technical profiles, facilitating adoption by the business.
  • Orientation toward impact, prioritization, and measurement of the value generated by the developed use cases and solutions.
  • Transversal work, capacity for collaboration, and influence with business, technology, data, and control teams.
  • Technological curiosity, continuous learning, and sensitivity toward the responsible, secure, and governed use of data, artificial intelligence, and analytical models.
