What we're looking for

Bachelor's/ Masters degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Food Engineering, Food Chemistry or a similar area
Strong knowledge of Fats and Oils and how they interact with other ingredients in Food Systems
5 or more years experience in a Technical/ Technical Account Management position which translates Technical needs into Commercial solutions
Understanding of the Bakery category
Fluent English and Spanish - required as customers are based in Spain and interaction with international colleagues in English
Ability to travel 20% of the time in South West Europe

The role

This position is in our Food Enterprise where we are committed to serving food manufacturers, food service customers, and retailers with a complete range of innovative ingredients and branded products. Our portfolio includes poultry, beef, egg, alternative protein, salt, oils, starches, sweeteners, cocoa and chocolate.

The Senior Technical Account Manager, is a technical expert responsible for providing advice and insights to Bakery customers in Southern Europe (Spain and Italy) while helping the business achieve growth targets. In this role, you will understand customer strategies and needs and help them to improve their products, results and reach and exceed their goals through product solutions and services. You will also identify new business development opportunities within existing customers and/or with new product, ingredient and concept opportunities, find and propose solutions, lead projects, communicate and train customers. You will be a trusted advisor to customers and provide strategic and technical direction for account managers.

What you'll do

Partner with the customer's research and development team to understand the business strategy and anticipate needs of the customer
Participate in technical contract negotiations, regular customer meetings, propose strategy, positioning and value proposition to customers
Provide product, application, ingredient, processing expertise and training
Act as the technical link with Cargill Marketing and Technology teams within R&D and other functions to assess opportunities for improvement and provide advice and consultation to customers
Constantly expand knowledge on customer needs, their applications and markets to create new innovation ideas for new projects to generate value for Cargill and our customers
Grows incremental contribution margin to meet agreed growth targets with customers

Location: Barcelona / Sant Cugat area preferred (hybrid working) or Colmenar Viejo (Madrid area).
