What we're looking for

  • Minimum experience of 3-5 years as a Site Manager.
  • Demonstrable experience in works in historic centers, heritage, old or protected buildings (ideally residential).
  • Solid knowledge of construction processes and coordination of teams/subcontractors.
  • 60-hour OSH course on-site (mandatory).
  • Capacity for organization, leadership, and working under pressure.
  • Availability to travel to Lisbon for the duration of the project.

Nice to have

  • Experience in similar projects by budget and duration.

The role

At GI GROUP, we are looking to hire a Site Manager for a construction company with an architecture studio in full expansion across Spain, Portugal, and Hispanic America. The company also specializes in the manufacturing and integral management of retail experience projects: points of sale, commercial furniture, POS & display, window dressing, and brand spaces, working with national and international clients, and accompanying each project from concept to final implementation in-store.

We are looking for a person to lead the on-site execution of a landmark residential project in Lisbon.

We are looking for a senior profile, with real on-site experience in historic centers / old buildings / heritage or protected sites, accustomed to working with high quality demands, team coordination, and daily monitoring.

The person hired will work with the Site Manager (located in Madrid), guaranteeing correct on-site execution, planning control, and the coordination of contractors and subcontractors.

What you'll do

  • Integral organization of the site: workspaces, stockpiles, access, maneuvers, and logistics of materials/machinery.
  • Supervision and control of daily execution, ensuring compliance with planning, quality, and OSH (Occupational Safety and Health), following the guidelines of the Site Manager.
  • Interpretation of blueprints and setting out of work units, coordinating and assigning tasks to workers, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Coordination of work areas in old building/historic center environments, anticipating interferences and technical/administrative constraints.
  • Control of materials, measurements, and progress, with periodic reporting to management (Madrid) and coordination with the project team.
  • Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety regulations, order and cleanliness, and correct operational documentation on-site.

How you'll work

  • Permanent contract
  • Project in Lisbon (travel until the end of the works, followed by relocation to the Balearic Islands, Coruña, Madrid, or other areas of Spain).
  • Salary: according to experience.
  • Accommodation in Lisbon covered by the company.
  • Expenses covered: transport and per diems (including weekends and holidays).
  • Standard schedule: 08:00-17:00, with leaving on Fridays at approximately 12:00-13:00.
  • Upon completion of the works, intention to relocate to other projects (if the candidate resides in Madrid, an attempt will be made later to move them closer to their city).

REQUIREMENTS

  • Languages: not essential.
