Project Control Planner

Education

• Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Civil Engineering, Technical Architecture, or equivalent

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience in similar positions in chemical plants, refining, petrochemical, or industrial process facilities.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in plants built or operating under Repsol, SK, or equivalent specifications.
• Advanced computer skills at a user level, especially Microsoft 365.
• Experience in advanced Excel, Power BI, SAP, MS Project, Therefore, OpenPlant, AutoCAD, Navisworks, MicroStation, or other applicable tools. Knowledge of AI tools.
• Experience in Project Controls, integrated project portfolio planning, milestone monitoring, critical paths, S-curves, dashboards, reporting, and deviation management.

We are currently looking for a PLANNER - PROJECT CONTROL to join a major company in the industrial sector, in Cartagena.

• Perform investment and construction work planning, estimating the necessary resources, materials, and labor.
• Plan and schedule investment interventions during unit shutdowns.
• Monitor planning, analyze deviations, critical paths, and corrective measures.
• Generate investment monitoring dashboards.
• Collaborate on KPIs and monitoring reports.
• Maintain an integrated planning of the investment portfolio, consolidating information from project engineers, supervisors, Purchasing, SGD, suppliers, external engineering firms, and construction contractors.
• Identify and keep updated critical paths, constraints, key milestones, dependencies between projects, operating windows, and decision needs.
• Prepare planning information for KPIs, monthly reports, deviation monitoring, recovery plans, disbursement plans, and reporting.
• Coordinate with project engineers for the periodic updating of dates, risks, scope changes, and pending actions, without substituting the technical responsibility of each engineer over their projects.
• Real-time monitoring of work progress, contrasting the planning with the actual status of engineering, purchasing, construction, commissioning, and closure.
• Participation in monitoring meetings with project engineers, supervisors, contractors, suppliers, and external engineering firms when necessary.
• Verification of field progress against the approved planning, identifying deviations, constraints, interferences, resource needs, work windows, and dependencies between disciplines.
• Coordination with construction supervisors and assembly contractors to ensure that the planning reflects the reality of the site.
• Proposal of corrective measures, rescheduling, milestone recovery, or sequence changes when deviations are detected.
• Maintenance of the planning as a living tool for project management and control, and not merely as an administrative schedule.
