Backend Technical Lead / Architect

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, or a related field.
• At least 7 years of experience in the role described.
• Strong, in-depth knowledge of Java is essential. 
• In-depth knowledge of both relational and non-relational databases.
• Experience with event-driven architectures.
• Knowledge of design patterns and scalable, highly available microservices architectures.
• Familiarity with public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) or private ones (Openshift).
• Continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) tools.
• Knowledge of security best practices in backend development.
• Experience using observability tools such as Grafana or Zipkin.
• Backend Frameworks: Spring Boot (Java), Spring, J2EE.
• Reactive Programming: Project Reactor, Spring WebFlux.
• Knowledge of event-oriented architecture tools: Kafka, JMS.
• Databases: SQL, MongoDB, CouchBase, Redis.
• Version control: Git.
• QA: JUnit, Mock libraries, Wiremock, Test Containers.
• CI/CD Tools: CI/CD pipelines, branching models.
• Observability: Grafana, Zipkin, Datadog, or similar tools.

One of the top clients on the island is looking to bring on a Backend Technical Lead for their development team. The goal of the role is to ensure backend systems are scalable, reliable, secure, and maintainable, while coordinating with other teams (e.g., frontend, DevOps, product management) to meet project requirements.

• Leading development teams.
• Deeply understanding functional and non-functional requirements in order to deliver outstanding technical implementations.
• Having in-depth, detailed knowledge of the technology stacks used in their projects.
• Staying up to date with the latest trends in architecture and technologies related to development.
• Auditing the correct implementation of the architecture guidelines defined by the client.
• Reviewing code and ensuring the quality of the Project.
• Making sound and effective technical decisions.
• Analyzing potential scenarios to anticipate future technical challenges.
• Carrying out complete planning of technology projects aligned with the strategic objectives of the software development initiatives.
• Breaking down functional requirements into technical tasks.
• Analyzing and prioritizing technology requirements.
• Understanding third-party software.
• Proposing technical improvements.
• Mentoring the team under their charge in technical matters.
• Leading technical meetings with clients.
• Taking responsibility for the full development lifecycle, from design through to deployment and operations.
