Health and Safety Coordinator

Technical Architect, Building Engineer, Quantity Surveyor, or related technical degree.

Specific training in both Health and Safety Coordination on construction sites and Occupational Risk Prevention (intermediate or advanced level).

Knowledge of current Health and Safety regulations in construction.

Training in Safety matters (200 hours of training) approved by the CNSST will be valued.

Previous experience as a Health and Safety Coordinator on building construction sites will be valued.

Experience in site supervision and control of compliance with OHS regulations.

Job Profile: Health and Safety Coordinator for Building Construction

Plan, coordinate, and supervise the application of general prevention and safety principles during construction execution, ensuring compliance with current Health and Safety regulations, as well as the proper integration of prevention in all construction processes.

1. Drafting the Safety and Health Study during the project phase, based on the technical characteristics of the works, their schedule, and the planned construction procedures. (CATEB endorsement of the SHS)

2. Health and Safety Coordination on site (CATEB endorsement of the designation record and completion of the CSS)

o Coordinate the application of general prevention principles during the execution of the works.

o Enable and fill in the incident logbook

o Approve and verify the Health and Safety Plan prepared by the contractor.

o Organize the coordination of business activities among the various parties involved in the works.

Includes supervision and control on site:

o Monitor compliance with the preventive measures established in the Health and Safety Plan.

o Detect risk conditions and propose immediate corrective measures.

o Carry out periodic inspection visits on-site.

And compliance with regulations:

o Guarantee compliance with current legislation regarding OSH in construction.

Ensure that works are executed in accordance with established safe procedures. Ensure that works are executed in accordance with the safety procedures established in the H&S Plan

or

o Control the correct use of work and protection equipment (PPE and collective protections). Control the proper use of individual protections, verify the correct installation of collective protections. Verify the use of auxiliary means (use and documentation) and any machinery.

As well as document management:

o Request documentation from the companies involved before the start of the Works (opening of work center, designation of preventive resource......)

o Supervise the preventive documentation of the companies involved (payment stream for prevention services and accident insurance, risk assessments, training, medical fitness, etc.).

o Keep the Incident Logbook up to date.

o Record orders, incidents, and corrective measures adopted.

And monitoring and reporting:

o Report on the state of safety on-site.

o Attend site meetings regarding health and safety.

o Coordinate actions in the event of accidents or incidents.

o Halt works in case of serious and imminent risk.

o Coordinate the implementation of emergency and evacuation measures.

Schedule: Full-time on site from Monday to Thursday, half-day on Fridays, with availability according to project needs.

Contract: Permanent contract at a real estate development company.
