Mission

As a PCB Assembly Technician at PLD Space, your main mission is:

  • Plan, control, and execute the manufacturing and assembly procedures for printed circuit board assemblies.
  • Plan, control, and execute the electrical/mechanical assembly and integration of avionics hardware equipment at the unit level.

Responsibilities

  • Manufacturing, assembly, and integration
  • Read, interpret, analyze, and work with electrical/mechanical drawings, bills of materials, parts lists, and schematics.
  • Execute high-quality, reliable manufacturing and assembly processes for internal electrical wiring and cable harnesses of avionics hardware equipment.
  • Perform and control the complete printed circuit board assembly process, such as pick-and-place machine programming, manual SMD/THT soldering, conformal coating, masking, and the application of epoxy and thermal silicone, among others.
  • Perform the electrical and mechanical assembly/integration of avionics hardware equipment at the unit level.
  • Execute inspection procedures for FAI activities on PCB assemblies before their integration into final products.
  • Support avionics technicians in MAI activities for harness and avionics hardware integration into main assemblies.

Required qualifications

  • Create technical and controlled documentation on manufacturing, assembly, and integration criteria, as well as recommendations that include lessons learned and experiences to support continuous improvement in this area.
  • Generate reports on manufacturing, assembly, integration, and inspection to communicate results accurately, completely, and clearly.
  • High school diploma or equivalent certification in electrical/electronic disciplines.
  • More than 4 years of professional experience in PCB assembly and its manufacturing processes.
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of PCBA manufacturing and assembly tools.
  • Demonstrated experience in PCBA inspections.
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of basic manual mechanical and electronic tools.
  • Ability to adapt to constantly changing tasks and a fast-paced work environment.
  • Excellent concentration and attention to detail with outstanding work efficiency and precision.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Languages: English and Spanish.
