Control Room Operator

The Asociación Nuclear Ascó-Vandellós II (ANAV) needs to hire Control Room Operators to guarantee the safe operation of the Ascó and Vandellós II nuclear power plants. You will be part of a challenging project and an organization where excellence is pursued through learning and continuous improvement.

What will you do?

-      Phase 1

You will undergo training in which you will have the opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of the plant configuration and the operating systems. During this period, you will receive classes and carry out simulation practices, all with the support of specialized Instructors.

-      Phase 2

You will join your job as an Operator! For a period, you will work in a shift supervised by an experienced Operator. You will begin to perform the functions specific to the position, get to know your colleagues, and be able to consolidate the knowledge acquired.

-      Phase 3

You will fully assume your responsibilities as an Operator. Together with the shift team, you will operate all plant systems to guarantee energy generation, as well as all activities and maneuvers to allow for energy generation, maintenance, or fuel loading operations.

What do you need to achieve your goal?

-      You must have a minimum qualification in Technical Engineering or a Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Naval, Chemical, Telecommunications, Aeronautical or Mining Engineering, or a Bachelor's degree in Physics or Chemistry; this knowledge base and a good academic record will help you successfully complete the initial training period.

-      We will value previous experience in technical areas or in the industrial world; between 1 and 3 years would be ideal.

-      You will need to have analytical capacity and the ability to make decisions in complex situations. As you will always work in a team, communication skills and being collaborative will help you adapt successfully to the work.

-      English: you will need it for the reading of technical documentation.

-      Once you finish the training period, you will work in rotating shifts (Morning – Afternoon – Night), including weekends and holidays.
