A solid foundation as a software developer (ideally in the Java/Spring ecosystem or similar) and a clear evolution towards a more consultative and strategic role.
Mastery of microservices architecture and its patterns: API Gateway, Saga, CQRS, circuit breaker, service discovery, among others.
Experience designing APIs (REST, OpenAPI) and knowledge of API Management strategies.
Experience in Event Driven Architecture and messaging or streaming (Kafka or equivalents).
Practical application of Domain Driven Design: bounded contexts, context mapping, and complex domain modeling.
Knowledge of enterprise integration patterns and legacy modernization strategies, such as strangler fig or anti-corruption layer.
Design of cloud native solutions and a good understanding of their deployment on Kubernetes/OpenShift.
Experience defining reference architectures in complex transformation environments.
Participation in architecture governance committees or bodies.
Excellent executive communication, negotiation skills, and stakeholder management.
Nice to have
Experience in the financial sector (banking or insurance), or in Big Four type consultancies with projects for banking or large corporations.
Knowledge of TOGAF, ArchiMate, or BIAN.
Experience in domains such as payments, fraud, digital identity (OAuth2/OIDC), data, or digital channels.
Knowledge of security by design and sector regulatory requirements, such as DORA or PSD2.
Vision of observability, DevSecOps, and data or AI platforms from a solution architecture perspective.
Participation in large-scale technological modernization programs.
Experience in vendor management and relationship with technological partners.
The role
We are looking for a Solution Architect to join the Enterprise Architecture area of a major banking entity undergoing full technological transformation. You will be part of the team that defines the evolution of the bank's strategic capabilities such as payments, digital identity, fraud, data, observability, document management, or digital channels.
In addition to designing solid solutions, you will have to present and defend them before the business, senior management, and architecture governance committees.
What you'll do
Design end-to-end solutions for strategic initiatives. This includes decomposing into domains and services, defining API and event contracts, choosing integration patterns, and justifying trade-offs in non-functional requirements such as performance, resilience, security, and scalability.
Evolve corporate reference architectures, with reusable patterns for microservices, asynchronous integration, API exposure, and coexistence with legacy systems.
Document architecture decisions with ADRs and models (C4, ArchiMate) and keep the technological capabilities catalog up to date.
Participate in the definition of the bank's technological strategy and roadmaps, identifying opportunities for simplification, rationalization, and modernization.
Review and validate designs from other teams in architecture governance committees, ensuring consistency between domains.
Evaluate technologies, products, and vendors, leading comparative analyses and proofs of concept.
Present and defend architecture proposals to the business and management, translating technical decisions into business impact.
Coordinate domain architects, engineering teams, and technological partners to resolve cross-cutting challenges.
Monitor cross-cutting strategies such as AI, data, or observability, and facilitate the adoption of standards within engineering teams.
