Energy Tech Academy aims to accelerate electrification worldwide by training our external ecosystem with critical technical and digital capabilities needed for the energy transition. We empower partners, electricians, technicians and end customers to thrive in the new energy tech era.

The Technical Capability & Workforce Development Lead shapes and scales Schneider Electric's technical learning ecosystem for external learners. Acting as the strategic bridge between Business Units, technical academies, subject matter experts, certification owners and external ecosystem partners, the role transforms Schneider Electric expertise into scalable learning pathways, certifications, communities and workforce-development initiatives, with dedicated role-based programs for electricians and contractors

What you'll do

  • Partner with Business Units and technical academies to define and evolve Energy Tech Academy's long-term capability roadmap.
  • Identify priority skill domains, workforce requirements and emerging learning needs linked to electrification, automation, digitalization, software and sustainability.
  • Drive alignment across technical organizations toward a shared external capability-building strategy.
  • Recommend strategic learning priorities, investments and workforce-development initiatives to senior stakeholders.
  • Monitor industry trends, workforce challenges and skill gaps affecting the energy transition.
  • Lead the design and evolution of role-based technical learning programs exclusively for the Electrician and Contractor customer personas.
  • Define competency frameworks covering foundational, intermediate and advanced levels of technical expertise.
  • Design progressive learning journeys supporting workforce readiness, technology adoption and professional development.
  • Create scalable learning architectures and global standards that can be applied consistently across markets.
  • Connect learning pathways with assessments, certifications, digital credentials and professional recognition.
  • Coordinate Business Units and subject matter experts to ensure technical relevance, practical application and market alignment.
  • Define Energy Tech Academy's global capability frameworks for electricians and contractors, working closely to the Elecritcians and Contractors persona leaders, within the Divisions.
  • Design learning pathways spanning residential, infra-structure, commercial, industrial and emerging energy technologies.
  • Partner with technical leaders to identify the critical skills required by the future electrical workforce.
  • Work with industry associations, vocational institutions, training organizations and certification bodies to strengthen relevance and credibility.
  • Benchmark leading workforce-development and certification models and translate relevant practices into actionable program designs.
  • Develop initiatives strengthening employability, workforce readiness and long-term professional development.
  • Act as the primary interface between Energy Tech Academy and Schneider Electric Business Units for technical capability development.
  • Influence academy owners, technical leaders and subject matter experts to contribute to a cohesive external learner ecosystem.
  • Establish governance balancing Business Unit expertise and ownership with global consistency and learner-centered design.
  • Create visibility of learning assets, certifications, capability gaps and development priorities.
  • Drive collaboration across businesses to create integrated learner experiences rather than siloed technical programs.
  • Define and implement the strategy for technical learner and expert communities.
  • Build sustainable engagement models connecting electricians and contractors with Schneider Electric experts.
  • Promote peer learning, mentoring, technical collaboration, knowledge sharing and best-practice exchange.
  • Extend engagement beyond individual courses through community, certification and ongoing professional development.
  • Identify opportunities to apply AI, adaptive learning, immersive technologies, simulations and other digital learning innovations.
  • Pilot and scale approaches that improve relevance, accessibility, engagement and learner outcomes.
  • Benchmark leading technical learning ecosystems and translate emerging practices into practical recommendations and implementation plans.
  • Contribute to Energy Tech Academy's evolution as a modern, digitally enabled learning ecosystem.
  • Develop relationships with industry associations, certification bodies, technical institutes, universities and workforce-development organizations.
  • Shape partnerships that increase the reach, credibility and impact of technical learning and certification programs.
  • Represent Energy Tech Academy in selected forums focused on workforce development, technical education and skills transformation.
  • Strengthen Schneider Electric's positioning as a capability-building leader for the energy transition.

Requirements

What we're looking for

  • Master's degree in electrical engineering, energy systems, automation, industrial engineering, digital technologies, education technology or a related discipline.
  • 7-15 years of experience in technical learning, engineering excellence, capability development, technical consulting, product management, customer enablement, workforce development or academy leadership.
  • Proven experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives in a global matrix organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and technical leaders without direct authority.
  • Experience designing competency frameworks, role-based learning journeys, certification programs or workforce-development initiatives.

Nice to have

  • Experience working with electricians, contractors or comparable technical customer audiences is strongly preferred.

Languages

  • Fluent English; additional languages are an advantage.
