PYP Music Teacher & Piano Teacher

SEK Catalunya International School is looking for a Music and Piano Teacher to join its academic team, with immediate availability.

Mission

To inspire and nurture a love for music in students, developing their musical skills, creativity, and cultural awareness through an inquiry-based approach that promotes confidence, collaboration, and lifelong learning.

Functions

• Develop and implement teaching plans for the transdisciplinary and disciplinary units.

• Attend department meetings and participate in collaborative planning sessions.

• Take part in standardizing assessment tasks.

• Contribute to curriculum research and improvement.

• Stay updated on the PYP scope and sequence.

• Attend to school activities such as festivals and Open Days.

• Guide and support students in preparing for and participating in school festivals and music performances.

Requirements

• Primary music teacher.

• Flexibility to teach Infant School.

• Piano teacher.

• Teaching experience, preferably in the PYP.

• English native speaker or native speaker level. Speaking Spanish and/or Catalan will be valued.

Digital & AI Competencies

• Basic (occasional use of AI assistants)

• Familiarity with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Copilot or similar platforms.

• Experience using Microsoft 365, and music educational platforms such as Musescore, Noteflight or others will be also valued.

We offer

• Start date: Immediate.

• Schedule: Monday and Thursday, 9:20 a.m. to 17:00 p.m; Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 17:00 p.m.

• Salary: according to the primary school agreement.

• Location: SEK International School Catalunya

• Temporary contract.
