About the role

At SENER Energy, we orient our engineering toward the sustainability of industry and society. We develop projects that contribute to the transition toward a sustainable energy model, relying on innovation, technology, and technical excellence.

At Energy, we want to bring on board a hydraulic engineering specialist, at one of our main offices: Barcelona, Madrid, or Bilbao, to take part in national and international projects related to:

  • Power generation plants

  • Regasification and process plants

  • CO₂ capture projects

  • Hydrogen and derivatives plants

  • Civil infrastructure associated with industrial environments

The selected candidate will play a key role in hydraulic design, drainage and effluent networks, and coordination of buried systems, joining multidisciplinary teams and actively participating in the different engineering phases.

What you'll do

• Take part in engineering work within international EPC projects, detailed engineering, FEED, tender engineering, basic engineering, due diligence, or design reviews.

• Participate in effluent segregation criteria, including clean water, potentially contaminated water, oily water, chemical water, sanitary water, process effluents, and firefighting water effluents.

• Design and size storm drainage, sanitation, industrial effluent, oily water, chemical water, process water, sanitary wastewater networks, tanks, pumping systems, and reuse networks.

• Develop hydrological studies and design perimeter channeling works.

• Develop and review hydraulic calculations, reports, technical specifications, data sheets, diagrams, and drawings related to hydraulic and buried systems.

• Participate in the design of spill collection networks, including cryogenic effluents where required.

• Coordinate tie-in points and interfaces of buried networks and above-ground elements with structures, piping, electrical, instrumentation, process, architecture, layout, fire protection, HVAC, earthworks, and mechanical equipment.

• 2D and 3D coordination with layout designers, drafters, and modelers, resolving interferences and carrying out interdisciplinary cross-reviews.

• Participate in technical meetings with clients, partners, suppliers, and contractors.

• Support the review of comments from clients, contractors, and third parties, as well as the preparation of technical responses and optimization proposals.

• Support engineering and EPC bids.

• Participate in budget preparation.

• Combine the above tasks with participation in other types of projects and civil and hydraulic engineering activities of very diverse kinds, including: maritime works, long-distance pumping main design, flood risk studies, underground hydraulic works, offshore wind, etc.

What we expect from you:

What we're looking for

  • More than 6 years of experience in hydraulic engineering, drainage, sanitation, and effluent projects in industrial plants and civil works (international experience will be valued).

  • Degree in Civil Engineering (Ingeniería de Caminos, Canales y Puertos), Technical Public Works Engineering, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent qualification.

  • Multidisciplinary profile with an overall view of hydraulic and civil works.

  • Practical knowledge of hydrology, hydraulics of open-channel and pressure pipelines, gravity network design, and pumping systems.

  • Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software and digital tools such as Civil 3D, AutoCAD, advanced Excel, Navisworks, QGIS, or ArcGIS.

  • Ability to write technical documentation: reports, design criteria, specifications, and diagrams.

Nice to have

  • Experience in BIM environments is a plus.
