Join the team of Environmental Educators at Barcelona's municipal markets and be part of a project committed to sustainability and transforming consumption habits. You will help inform, raise awareness among, and advise both market stallholders and the public on waste prevention, reducing single-use plastics, and adopting more sustainable practices, helping to build more responsible and environmentally respectful markets.

Carry out environmental information, awareness-raising and advisory actions aimed at market stallholders and the public in municipal markets, promoting waste prevention, the reduction of single-use plastics and the adoption of more sustainable consumption habits.

Main duties:

• Carrying out information, awareness-raising, and environmental advisory actions aimed at market vendors and the public at municipal markets.
• Conducting personalised stall-by-stall visits to provide information on alternatives to single-use plastics, good practices for waste prevention, and sustainable consumption habits.
• Answering questions, resolving doubts, and adapting the message and educational resources to the characteristics of each target audience.
• Running information points and participatory activities aimed at the public, encouraging their involvement and environmental awareness.
• Collecting needs, opinions, incidents, and barriers identified during interactions, contributing to the evaluation and improvement of the campaign.
• Recording data and results of the activities using digital monitoring tools.
• Handling the transport, setup, maintenance, and dismantling of the elements required for the information activities (canopy, materials, and logistical support).
• Distributing informational and promotional materials related to the campaign.
• Ensuring the proper image and compliance with established protocols during the development of the activities.

Where will you work? You will carry out your activity in different municipal markets in 9 municipalities in the province of Barcelona: Artés (Bages), Capellades (Anoia), Montmeló (Vallès Oriental), Calella (Maresme), Les Franqueses del Vallès (Vallès Oriental), Manlleu (Osona), Pineda de Mar (Maresme), Santa Perpètua de Mogoda (Vallès Occidental) and Vilassar de Mar (Maresme).

What type of contract do we offer? Permanent intermittent contract.

When will you start? You will join the team on 25 September 2026 and finish on 10 October 2026.

What will your working hours be? Part-time, you will work 9 days over 2 weeks + 1 training day, with working hours from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The schedules of the activities will be organised according to opening hours, within the morning slot (8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.). In addition, the number of stalls in each market will be taken into account.

PROFILE

Environmental educator for training and awareness-raising activities in municipal markets

Required education

• Bachelor's degree, diploma, higher-level vocational training qualification, or equivalent education in: Environmental Sciences, Environmental Education, Biology, Environmental Management, Social Education, or related disciplines.
• Specific training in the following areas will be valued: waste prevention and management, circular economy, environmental education and communication, community engagement, and citizen participation.

Valuable experience

• Experience in environmental education or public awareness campaigns, experience in street-level outreach, information points, or commercial visits, experience in running participatory activities, or work on sustainability-related projects.
• Use of digital applications for field data recording.

Technical skills

• Knowledge of regulations and good practices related to waste prevention.
• Ability to explain environmental concepts clearly and accessibly.
• Strong command of digital tools (tablet, electronic forms, data recording applications).
• Ability to organise and independently manage assigned tasks.
