About the role

ArcelorMittal Spain is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Manager for the Coated Products Department at its Avilés facility (Asturias), with experience in highly automated industrial environments, capable of leading technical teams and taking responsibility for the availability and reliability of electrical installations. The selected candidate must have a clear plant-oriented approach, be proactive, analytical, and critical, able to anticipate breakdowns, identify root causes, drive improvements, and constructively challenge existing processes. They must combine technical and problem-solving skills with leadership, organization, resource management, and the ability to make decisions in critical situations.

What you'll do

  • Ensure compliance with safety and occupational risk prevention procedures, making sure that the group's safety and health policies are followed.
  • Collaborate with the Production, Mechanical Maintenance, Quality, and Technical Team departments to coordinate all electrical maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate and supervise a team of electrical maintenance technicians, electricians on a 3-shift rotation and normal working hours, as well as subcontractor workers.
  • Schedule, coordinate, and supervise electrical maintenance operations, managing daily work orders, purchase requests... for both in-house personnel and subcontractors.
  • Organize the human and material resources required for each intervention, with the support of maintenance technicians, in order to meet deadlines and budgets.
  • Manage breakdowns, incidents, and scheduled plant shutdowns.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Engineering with a specialization in electronics or electrical engineering.
  • Master's degree in Occupational Risk Prevention.
  • 3 years of experience managing electrical maintenance teams in demanding industrial environments with continuous manufacturing (24/7).
  • Knowledge of PLCs and control systems, variable speed drives and actuators, electric motors, sensors and instrumentation, industrial networks/communications, switchgear, and low, medium, and high voltage electrical systems.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Leadership skills, able to set priorities and ensure they are met, demanding in execution, with the ability to develop the team's technical skills
    • Proactivity, with analytical skills, decision-making, and the development of a continuous improvement philosophy by proposing technical and organizational improvements to anticipate breakdowns
    • Critical thinking and the ability to drive change
    • Ability to work in a team.
