About the role

The program is aimed at students of the Master's Degree in Legal Practice (Acceso a la Abogacía) who wish to begin their professional career at Baker McKenzie.

Once these 10 months are completed and after the firm's corresponding review process, the candidate will be consolidated as a Junior Associate with an effective start date of July 1, 2028.

What to expect

Through this program, we want you to see, guided by great professionals, what life as a lawyer at Baker McKenzie is like.

What you'll do

From the start, you will be involved in the day-to-day of the department for which you have been selected, working closely with our lawyers and with our Spanish and international clients, carrying out research tasks and other daily activities within the department. You will also have the opportunity to participate in pro-bono activities.

This will give you the opportunity to:

  • build your network within the firm;
  • develop your legal skills;
  • learn how we work, what our clients are like, and how the Firm's structure is organized.

What we're looking for

To participate in the selection process, a solid academic record, excellent command of English (both written and oral), and a proactive attitude with a desire to learn and collaborate with our lawyers in providing legal advice to top-tier companies will be required.

Requirements

  • Be currently enrolled in the Master's Degree in Legal Practice (Acceso a la Abogacía) whose curricular internship period is scheduled to begin in September 2027.
  • Bachelor's degree in Spanish Law (or a recognized foreign degree).
  • Very good academic record.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Advanced level of English.
  • No previous experience required

Nice to have

  • Any international experience will be a plus.
  • Having completed a double degree will be highly valued.

What you'll get

As a firm, we are also deeply committed to the training of our lawyers. As a future Baker McKenzie lawyer, we want to help you grow as much as your talent and motivation allow.

During the first year, you will attend a training program designed specifically for you that will allow you to:

  • learn about our firm and the type of work we do
  • identify the personal skills and qualities you need to succeed at each stage of a lawyer's professional career
  • train in the technical and professional skills necessary to maximize your potential

More specifically, our Training Program includes:

  • Induction: you will attend an introductory training course during the first few days to help you get started.
  • Legal technical training: each of our practice groups conducts internal training sessions covering the relevant legal technical topics for that team. We also organize specific seminars for trainees covering the fundamental topics that arise in each of our practice areas, so that you gain a solid legal foundation.
  • Professional skills development: to be a successful lawyer, it is not only necessary to know the law. Therefore, we will help you maximize your potential and develop your skills, for example, by providing training in effective presentations, drafting, and client and matter management.

Your training will not end here. The training plan will accompany you throughout your entire professional career.

How you'll work

The program lasts 10 months: from September 2027 to January 2028, corresponding to the Master's curricular internships, and from February 2028 to June 2028, as a Trainee.
