  • General training in a related area, typically acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of related work experience in an industrial environment, with a focus on electrical, mechanical, or maintenance functions.
  • Experience leading teams in an industrial production environment
  • Knowledge of continuous manufacturing operations and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Ability to monitor and interpret operational indicators, including safety, quality, efficiency, and production volume.
  • Proficiency in autonomous maintenance practices, preventive maintenance, and equipment reliability.
  • Skill in resource scheduling and allocation, including vacation planning, overtime, and shift assignment.
  • Ability to record, report, and analyze shift events, production data, and operational indicators.
  • Ability to train, guide, and develop operators and technicians in accordance with global technical training standards.
  • Competence in problem-solving and root cause analysis using defined BOE tools and 5S practices.
  • Ability for conflict management and team leadership in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
  • Excellent communication skills to ensure the effective flow of information between work teams, supervisors, and management.
  • Ability to maintain operational, regulatory compliance, and human resources documentation accurately and up to date.

Pay & benefits

What you'll get

Hiring Rate: 48,000 EUR gross per year. The final salary will be determined based on the candidate's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and market benchmarks.

Bonus Plan: This position is eligible to participate in Ball's annual incentive program.

The purpose of the Plant Production Shift Supervisor position is to lead and manage a specific production shift to achieve safety, quality, and efficiency objectives, while ensuring the consistent application of standardized processes. This role supports continuous improvement initiatives, drives compliance with all regulatory requirements and company standards, and enables employees to perform their duties to their full potential.

The Shift Supervisor fosters a culture of accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence, ensuring reliable production results and contributing to the overall success of the plant.

What you'll do

The responsibilities described below represent much more than daily tasks. They are opportunities to support safe operations, maintain quality standards, collaborate with teammates, and contribute to the products and solutions that customers around the world rely on:

  • Ensure the health and safety of employees by reinforcing key safety behaviors and Ball safety standards. Ensure compliance with the integrated management system, meeting all regulatory requirements and company policies regarding EHS, quality, food safety, and emergency management.
  • Report deviations when necessary. Provide leadership, training, and mentorship to shift employees, ensuring process compliance and quality at the source to minimize non-conforming products.
  • Drive employee engagement and a culture of excellence in which problems are identified and corrected proactively.
  • Promote awareness and train the team in autonomous maintenance, equipment reliability, and preventive practices to maximize asset utilization. Ensure all shift equipment follows safety, quality, and process procedures, reviewing them periodically to maintain compliance.
  • Implement and maintain training and development programs aligned with global technical standards.
  • Ensure the application of BOE standards, such as daily meetings, Genba Walks, and other operational practices.
  • Establish relationships of trust with employees and union representatives to support plant and company objectives.
  • Promote effective labor relations within the plant, managing stress and conflicts constructively.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, the Code of Ethics, and applicable labor, union, environmental, health, and safety legislation.
  • Continuously develop employees through performance conversations, skill matrices, and training tracking. Promote and adopt 5S best practices, fostering order, accountability, and improvements in quality, cost, and productivity.
  • Foster problem-solving through root cause analysis using defined BOE tools and data-driven continuous improvement approaches.
  • Schedule employee vacations, manage time records, and coordinate work assignments to meet production needs.
  • Ensure clear communication and information exchange between work teams, other supervisors, and the Production Manager.
  • Accurately record and report shift events, operational issues, and production results.
  • Adjust equipment and processes to maintain input and energy consumption within established targets.
  • Meet production plans by coordinating with the Supply Chain team to satisfy customer demand.
