Requirements

What we're looking for

  • 8+ years building and running production systems, with a track record of owning products end to end, not just tickets.
  • Strong backend engineering ideally in Python (Django, FastAPI or similar), PostgreSQL and event-driven architectures (e.g. Kafka).
  • A generalist mindset: you're comfortable across the whole stack and not afraid to pick up frontend work when the product needs it.
  • Solid data skills: advanced SQL, a modern warehouse (Snowflake or similar) and orchestrated pipelines.
  • Experience bridging data and backend teams: you've brought data outputs into transactional systems and worked through the friction between them
  • Hands-on experience designing and analysing online experiments, and a healthy scepticism of results that look too good.
  • Product judgement: you define success before you build, and you're comfortable cutting scope or killing ideas.
  • Excellent communication in English with technical and business audiences, in writing and in person.
  • Experience leading product direction, influencing teams and stakeholders you don't directly manage.
  • Option to come into the office in Madrid a couple of times a week.

Nice to have

  • Background in pricing, revenue management or dynamic pricing, ideally in ticketing, travel, marketplaces or e-commerce.
  • Familiarity with concepts like price elasticity, demand forecasting and occupancy vs. margin trade-offs.
  • Experience with experimentation platforms (Statsig, Optimizely, GrowthBook or in-house) and variance-reduction techniques.
  • Exposure to dbt, Airflow or similar tooling.
  • Spanish is a plus, but not required.

This role is probably not for you if...

  • You prefer to receive well-defined tickets and focus only on code.
  • You want to stop coding and manage purely through meetings and metrics.
  • You see data and backend as separate worlds that someone else should connect.
  • You consider an experiment done when the feature flag is on.

Our mission? To democratize access to culture and entertainment. With our proprietary cutting-edge technology and data-driven approach, we're revolutionizing the way people engage with live entertainment.

Every month, our platform inspires over 300 million people in +55 countries (and counting) to discover unforgettable experiences while also empowering event creators with our data and technology, helping them scale, innovate, and enhance their events to reach new audiences.

Our results? We've teamed up with major industry leaders like Netflix, F.C. Barcelona, and Primavera Sound, presented international award-winning experiences, and are backed by several leading global investors! Impressive, right?

To achieve our mission, we are looking for bar-raisers with a hands-on mindset who are eager to help shape the future of entertainment!

Ready to be part of the experience?

Now, let's discuss this role and what you will do to help achieve Fever's mission.

We're looking for a Lead Product Engineer to shape and build the products that power Fever's pricing systems.

Pricing sits where two worlds meet. On one side, the analytical world: demand signals, ML models and experiments living in our data warehouse. On the other, the transactional world: prices, checkout and the core backend that charges millions of users every month. Your mission is to bring them together through products that are reliable, measurable and easy for the business to use.

You'll work with Data Science, Data Engineering, Core Backend and Partner teams. You won't own all of them, but you'll be the person who makes them work as one.

This is a hybrid role: roughly 50% product leadership, 50% hands-on engineering.

We're not looking for a manager who steers through dashboards and KPIs, nor for someone who prefers to code in isolation. We need a builder who also leads: someone who writes production code, shapes the roadmap, and is comfortable walking into a room with stakeholders to present and defend the capabilities of the product they lead, or to explain why a pricing experiment didn't work and what we'll try next.

You'll own Pricing products end to end, from defining the problem with stakeholders to shipping the system, measuring its impact and deciding what to kill or double down on.

What you'll do

  • Own the product roadmap: gather needs from growth partners and stakeholders, prioritise them and say no when it matters.
  • Translate business goals into measurable product objectives.
  • Write clear design docs and decision records, and explain trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Turn manual, engineer-dependent processes into self-serve product capabilities.
  • Design and build the bridge between offline models and online prices: how a model output computed in batch or in real time becomes a price served at checkout, with the right freshness, fallbacks and auditability.
  • Diagnose complex implementation challenges, reproduce failures, test hypotheses, and drive technical blockers toward resolution.
  • Write production code across backend services and data pipelines, and review others' work with a high bar.
  • Make trade-offs between scope, speed, and quality; adjust plans to protect delivery
  • Lead the product direction of your area within the Pricing vertical: set the vision, align stakeholders around it and keep the team focused on outcomes, not output.
  • Partner with the team's engineering leadership so that product priorities and technical decisions stay aligned.
