The role

At Fritz&Muller, we are looking for a Maintenance Director to join a company within a large-scale Group, at one of its production plants in the southern area of the province of Valencia. The selected person will comprehensively lead the plant's maintenance area, with direct reporting from three area coordinators: Facilities Maintenance, Line Maintenance, and Cold Storage Maintenance.

What you'll do

  • Define and implement the strategy and the plant's Master Maintenance Plan, with a medium-to-long-term vision.
  • Direct and coordinate the three area coordinators (Facilities, Lines, and Cold Storage), and through them, manage a team of approximately 700 people.
  • Design, supervise, and ensure compliance with preventive, predictive, corrective, and legal maintenance plans across the three areas.
  • Guarantee the availability, reliability, and performance of the plant's industrial assets.
  • Supervise the daily activity of the department through coordinators, supervisors, and shift managers.
  • Prioritize and manage critical incidents, minimizing the impact on production and reducing downtime.
  • Lead continuous improvement, industrialization, and optimization projects for processes and facilities, applying agile project management methodologies.
  • Manage the department's annual budget, monitoring costs and investments by area.
  • Coordinate external providers and maintenance contracts, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
  • Participate in internal and external audits, guaranteeing compliance with OSH regulations, food safety, and applicable certifications (IFS/BRC).
  • Manage the life cycle of machinery and facilities, proposing improvements, renovations, and technological updates.
  • Supervise, through the facilities coordinator, the plant's auxiliary services (industrial refrigeration, steam, compressed air, electricity, water, HVAC, and fire protection systems).
  • Drive the development of the three coordinators and their teams through performance evaluations and the detection of training needs.

Requirements

  • Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, or similar); a master's degree in Maintenance, Operations, or similar will be highly valued.
  • Between 5 and 8 years of experience in responsible positions within the industrial maintenance area, ideally leading other middle management (coordinators/area managers).
  • Experience leading large teams in industrial environments through intermediate management structures.
  • Experience in the implementation and management of preventive, predictive, and legal maintenance plans.
  • Experience in budget management and cost control at a departmental level.
  • Proficiency in CMMS tools and an advanced level of Excel.
  • Knowledge and application of agile methodologies in continuous improvement project management will be valued.
  • English is desirable (medium-high level), especially if the plant belongs to a group with international operations.
  • Experience in 24/7 production plants, industrial automation, utilities management, and environments certified under IFS/BRC is desirable.
  • Profile with the ability to lead middle management teams, result orientation, strategic vision, and a focus on continuous improvement.
