What you'll do

At Grupo Planeta, we are looking for a Financial Controller (Temporary) for our Planeta Formación y Universidades division.

What would your main duties be?

  • Analyze and supervise the company's accounting accounts with monthly closings, verification of the correct entry of accounting operations (centralized by the central Accounting department), and the preparation of cost/revenue forecasts.
  • Treasury management and developments for Cash Flow monitoring and control.
  • Economic, accounting, and analytical support to the rest of the departments in an advisory capacity.
  • Analysis and monitoring of cost deviations as part of the economic budget control with each area.
  • Preparation of documentation for external auditors for the preparation of annual accounts and coordination of audit processes with the rest of the departments.
  • Analysis, presentations, and accounting and financial reporting to stakeholders (General Management, Board of Directors, Division Board, etc.)
  • Budgeting process, planning, and updates during the year in collaboration with the rest of the departments.
  • Consolidation and profitability analysis by product.
  • Control and accounting developments of balance sheet accounts, capex, and the entity's income.
  • Implementation of internal control systems: Establishes and supervises internal control systems to ensure the integrity and reliability of financial information (interacting/collaborating with the rest of the University's areas).
  • Cost monitoring and control: Develops systems and processes to control and reduce operating costs. This involves evaluating resource efficiency and proposing corrective measures when necessary.
  • Define and follow key performance indicators (KPI) that allow for the evaluation of performance and the achievement of objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with the corresponding financial/tax regulations in correlation with the holding's centralized departments.
