What we're looking for

Prior experience of between 3 and 5 years in similar positions is required, advising from a law firm or Big4.

Nice to have

Excellent legal analysis skills, technical quality, and attention to detail, client focus, organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, interest in innovation and technology, as well as knowledge of AI (knowledge of artificial intelligence will be valued, both from a regulatory and intellectual property perspective and in the practical use of generative AI tools and other technological solutions applied to the provision of legal services, knowledge management, and process optimization).

Education & certifications

Law graduates with a Master's degree in Digital Law, Intellectual and Industrial Property, and related fields.

Languages

Advanced level of English (C1). Proficiency in other languages such as French, German, or Portuguese will be highly valued.

The role

The selected candidate will join the IP & IT team at KPMG Abogados, taking part in national and international matters and projects for leading companies across various sectors, providing specialized advice on intellectual and industrial property and collaborating on matters related to technology, digitalization, artificial intelligence, technology contracting, and innovation. The main duties will be:

What you'll do

Intellectual Property: legal advice on copyright, software, databases, digital content, and intangible assets. Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts related to licensing, assignment of rights, software development, technology transfer, collaboration and innovation agreements, technology and innovation, etc.
Industrial Property: legal advice on trademarks, trade names, industrial designs, and domain names. Management and monitoring of national, European Union, and international trademark portfolios. Preparation of availability and risk reports. Participation in opposition, invalidity, and revocation proceedings. Coordination with industrial property agents and international correspondents. Support in proceedings for the defense of industrial property rights.
You will also take part in various projects related to matters such as Artificial Intelligence, identifying and analyzing legal risks associated with new technologies, due diligence, risk reports and remediation recommendations in M&A transactions and corporate reorganizations from an IP perspective, digital transformation, data-driven economies... among others.
