Senior Automation and DevOps Engineer

Main mandatory skills: GitHub, Jenkins, Azure, Ansible, Terraform, and AIOps.

High-level expertise in Azure within enterprise environments: operations, governance, security, networks, identity, observability, and automation.

Ability to operate critical cloud platforms in the context of a transformation like SMART LATAM, including the migration of 19 countries to Azure.

Experience designing and operating cloud services for core platforms, especially in scenarios such as REEF as a Secure Platform deployed on Azure.

Practical knowledge of automation, infrastructure as code, policies, monitoring, cost management, resilience, and cloud operations best practices.

Interest and experience in AIOps to evolve operations from traditional models toward intelligent, predictive, and automated operations.

Ability to work with agile operating models, automating diagnosis, remediation, runbook generation, and supporting operational decisions.

Experience managing GitHub in enterprise environments: compliance, auditing, integrations, and large-scale support.

Expert level in GitHub Enterprise, including corporate governance, security, automation, integrations, operational scaling, and support for multiple teams.

Expert level in Jenkins: platform administration, plugins, agents, credentials, shared libraries, security, high availability, and advanced troubleshooting.

Consolidated experience operating Jenkins in enterprise environments, with a focus on stability, scalability, hardening, upgrades, and service continuity.

Automation and Infrastructure as Code - Ansible and Terraform are mandatory

Ansible and Terraform as mandatory skills for automation, deployment, configuration, and maintenance of platform components. Git as the foundation for all work.

Scripting (Python and/or Bash) for operational automation and tooling.

Design of pipelines and reusable templates (Jenkins shared libraries, workflows), with a focus on standardization.

Identity & Access Management in DevOps tools: SSO, MFA, RBAC, groups, roles, and least privilege.

Management of secrets, credentials, and tokens (rotation, auditing, segregation) and integration with the corporate vault if applicable.

Governance and policies: branch protection, reviews, change control in pipelines, and traceability.

Auditing and compliance: logs, evidence, retention, and support for security reviews.

Definition of the operating model: SLAs/SLOs, incident/problem management, change management, and continuity.

Observability: monitoring, logging, alerting, metrics, and dashboards for Jenkins and GitHub (and their components).

Technical documentation, runbooks, procedures, and self-service for teams (guides, FAQs, templates).

Operation in enterprise environments with multiple teams and high volumes of repos/pipelines, prioritizing stability and developer experience.

Backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategy for Jenkins and GitHub (according to architecture and corporate services).

Design and operation focused on high availability, scalability, and MTTR reduction (capacity, redundancy, recovery procedures).

Demonstrable experience operating cloud platforms, with a high level of expertise in Azure, in enterprise, critical, and multi-geography environments.

Experience or ability to participate in large cloud migration programs, such as the LATAM migration to Azure within SMART LATAM and the evolution of REEF on Azure.

Expert level administering and maintaining Jenkins, including lifecycle, upgrades, plugins, agents, security, performance, and advanced troubleshooting.

Experience working with multiple teams and stakeholders: Security, Architecture, Operations, Engineering Platform, and Development.

Expert level in GitHub at the corporate level: governance, permissions, auditing, integrations, security, and repository best practices.

Mandatory experience in Ansible and Terraform for operational automation and infrastructure as code.

At Mapfre, we are looking for a very hands-on Senior Engineer, who will ensure that our Cloud, Automation, DevOps, and AIOps environments operate with high availability, security, and optimal performance. The main focus of the role will be Azure, to work on the migration of LATAM —19 countries— to Azure, and for the evolution of core projects that will also move to Azure.

On a day-to-day basis, you will manage the operating model for these platforms: availability and performance, updates and patches, access management, incident support, observability, capacity, and automation. You will work within Cloud Enablement, side by side with the Engineering Platform, Security, Architecture, and Development teams to define best practices and remove friction from delivery, evolving operations from a model centered on Jenkins and GitHub toward a more agile, automated, and AIOps-based approach.

Ensure end-to-end operation of automations and CI/CD environments: availability, performance, capacity, continuity, and support.

Administer and evolve the Jenkins platform: version control, plugins, agents/runners, credentials, shared libraries, and hardening.

Administer GitHub at the corporate level: organizations, repositories, policies, permissions, branching, protection, auditing, and lifecycle.

Define and maintain the operating model: monitoring/alerting, logs, runbooks, on-call (if applicable), SLAs/SLOs, and problem management.

Manage changes, patches, and upgrades with a focus on stability and security, coordinating windows and communications.

Ensure integration with corporate services: SSO, identity and access management, secret management, proxy/network, and observability tools.

Drive automation (IaC and scripting) for repeatable deployments, consistent environments, and reduced manual work.

Define standards and "guardrails" for pipelines: best practices, templates, reuse, supply chain security, and quality.

Support development teams: guidance, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement.

Measure and report KPIs: Availability, execution times, reliability, adoption, developer experience, and efficiency.
