Requirements
What we're looking for
We are not looking for an endless list of years of experience; we care about your educational background, your commitment, and your desire to learn on the ground:
Intermediate Level Occupational Risk Prevention Technician qualification (or Higher Degree Vocational Training in Occupational Risk Prevention), because you need the technical and regulatory fundamentals to operate proficiently at the plant.
Residency in Tarragona or surroundings and a driver's license with your own vehicle, so that your travel to the refinery facilities is comfortable, agile, and autonomous.
No previous experience in technical shutdowns or the petrochemical sector is required, as you will have an induction plan and direct accompaniment from senior specialists who will guide you from day one.
Desire to get involved in dynamic projects and a collaborative attitude, because the pace during a technical shutdown is active and mutual support among colleagues is the key to collective success.
Pay & benefits
What you'll get
First-class practical school: Participating in the Repsol technical shutdown represents one of the greatest accelerated learning milestones that an OHS professional can experience at the start of their career.
Cohesive and close team: You will work alongside a team of technicians with extensive experience who share their knowledge without reservation and celebrate joint achievements.
Real possibility of continuity: The shutdown starts in January and ends in March, but our goal is to detect talent with the potential to integrate stably into ongoing OCA Global projects after this period.
Working day and conditions adapted to the project
Pre-shutdown phase: intensive morning shift (from 07:00 to 15:00 h).
Technical shutdown phase (January to March): intensive shift from 07:00 to 19:00 h, oriented to the operational rhythm of the plant.
Additionally, in our organizational culture, we care for well-being: in stable positions, we enjoy intensive summer shifts (July and August from 08:30 to 15:30 h), reduced Fridays and days before holidays, and December 24th and 31st are free for the entire staff.
The role
Your mission: Making the industrial environment a safer space
At OCA Global, we work every day with a clear purpose: to make the world a safer and more sustainable place. On this occasion, you will be a fundamental piece in one of the moments of greatest technical precision in the industry: the technical shutdown of the Repsol refinery in Tarragona.
Your role does not consist solely of monitoring regulations, but of being the close reference point who accompanies, guides, and looks after professionals on the ground so that every critical maneuver is executed without incidents. If you are looking to take a professional leap where you can learn the real trade from the inside, surrounded by a technical team that will support you every step of the way, this is your place.
What you'll do
Supervise and accompany operational work and work permits in the plant to ensure that every intervention complies with the highest safety standards, gaining accelerated learning in one of the most complex and recognized industrial facilities in the country.
Identify and anticipate possible risk conditions in the different areas of the refinery to apply immediate preventive solutions in coordination with middle management, acquiring solid technical criteria and problem-solving capacity in high-demand environments.
Foster and promote a close preventive culture among contractor teams through direct communication to consolidate safe working habits, enhancing your interpersonal, field leadership, and preventive pedagogy skills.
Record and convey preventive observations and field reports to the coordination team to guarantee safety traceability throughout the entire shutdown, mastering the key documentary methods and tools of the industrial sector.
How you'll work
Working day: Full-time (intensive pre-shutdown and technical shutdown regime with high remuneration for breaks/compensations)
