Reporting to the factory manager, the functions will be:
The main objective is to ensure the factory does not stop
Inspect and lubricate on a scheduled basis the transport systems (conveyor belts, bucket elevators) that move the pistachio through the plant.
Review heat systems: Control and calibrate the roasting ovens and industrial dryers to ensure that the temperature is constant and does not affect the quality of the fruit.
Maintenance of calibrators and shellers: Adjust the machines that separate pistachios by size or that remove the outer shell
Vibration and wear control: Monitor motors, fans, and air compressors to detect anomalies before a serious breakdown occurs.
When a problem arises, act with speed to minimize downtime:
Diagnosis and repair of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic breakdowns throughout the production line.
Repair of packaging systems: Solve faults in the weighing, bagging, or vacuum sealing machines that prepare the final product.
Replacement of components: Change bearings, damaged conveyor belts, defective sensors, or solenoid valves.
Calibration of optical sorters: Modern pistachio plants use color or X-ray sorters to separate closed, empty, or defective pistachios. Ensure the correct functioning of these high-tech sensors.
Compliance with hygiene standards (HACCP): Ensure that repairs use food-grade lubricants (that do not contaminate the product) and that the machinery is easy to clean and disinfect.
Spare parts stock management: Maintain an inventory of critical parts (spare motors, belts, fuses) so as not to depend on long shipping times in the middle of the season.
