The role

What you'll do

To guarantee the continuity of Red Eléctrica's telecommunications services through the telecommunications network Management Systems and the establishment of new services, as well as to control, supervise, and monitor all activities with an impact on the telecommunications network.

1. To perform the operation and management of the telecommunications network, through the diagnosis and resolution of incidents in real time, as well as the commissioning of new equipment and services, as part of the Telecommunications Supervision Center (NOC) team.

1.1. To attend to and perform permanent monitoring of incidents in telecommunications services, both for our own and for third parties.
1.2. To perform and manage the operation of the telecommunications network.
1.3. To resolve incidents related to the telecommunications services supported on the Red Eléctrica network, monitoring the actions carried out at the demarcations, as well as registering and controlling said incidents, integrating them with the operation of the electrical system.
1.4. To analyze in detail the impact and potential risks regarding interventions in the telecommunications network, as well as incidents that occur, providing the most suitable solutions for each case.
1.5. To perform remote management of equipment and circuits to restore affected telecommunications services.
1.6. To coordinate the commissioning and integration of new equipment into the telecommunications network.
1.7. To authorize or deny internal or external works with an impact on telecommunications services.
1.8 To participate in the on-call shift, being available one week per month outside of working hours to attend to emergencies and guarantee network operability.

2. To perform, together with other technical teams, the planning and execution of projects related to the telecommunications network.

2.1. To perform and manage the technical and data maintenance of the information, supervision, and real-time management systems of the CST, as well as any functionality expansions or improvements that are deemed appropriate.
2.2. To evaluate, control, and monitor the quality of telecommunications services.
2.3. To monitor new telecommunications installation projects, ensuring compliance with telecommunications service quality and current regulations.
2.4. To carry out studies and reports on telecommunications network improvements aimed at optimizing the quality of telecommunications services.

3. To implement telecommunications services and participate in innovative solutions to improve network efficiency and security.
3.1. To receive requests for the establishment of new services.
3.2. To analyze the resources necessary for the establishment of the requested telecommunications services.
3.3. To perform remote configuration of circuits and services through the CST management systems.
3.4. To perform the registration and updating of information regarding established circuits and services.
3.5 Optimization/Testing of innovative solutions of new technologies.

Requirements

  • Higher or intermediate vocational training with sufficient professional experience and accredited knowledge, or a degree in telecommunications (telematics or communications).
  • Proven experience in Network Operations Centers (NOC), in the resolution of incidents on Telecommunications services, in the Operation and Supervision of transmission equipment with MPLS and DWDM Technologies, IP Equipment (Configuration, Operation, and incident resolution): Level 2 (Ethernet Switching, VPLS, VLANs) and Level 3 (Routing OSPF, BGP, RIP, QoS), in network analysis and supervision tools (SolarWinds, HP-Openview), security equipment (configuration and operation): Firewalls (Fortinet, Palo Alto, Checkpoint, Nozomi) and Authentication Systems (Radius, TACACS+), and in the Operation and Supervision of VoIP telephony systems (Alcatel-Lucent).
  • Control of critical situations, teamwork, and customer orientation.
  • Availability to be on call.
