AIS Substation Technician

1. Define and implement the AIS life cycle for HV switchgear families, considering technical aspects and those related to asset management, from the equipment qualification phase to the in-service maintenance phase.
2. Analyze, validate, and monitor maintenance expenditure budgets during the in-service phase of assets.
3. Conduct benchmarking to identify best practices related to qualification, installation, and maintenance both within and outside Red Eléctrica.
4. Digitalize HV assets, defining, proposing, and evaluating the applicability, usefulness, benefits, and scalability of incorporating artificial intelligence and IoT technologies.
5. Define, propose, and establish technical criteria, as well as maintenance strategies and logic for AIS substation asset families, to define or evolve asset management algorithms in MANINT.
6. Propose technological and development action lines within your area of activity, conducting studies and technical analyses to improve qualification, assembly, maintenance, and asset management practices for AIS substations.
7. Plan, coordinate, evaluate, and monitor the activities required for the maintenance of AIS substation assets, ensuring compliance with defined quality, schedule, and cost objectives.
8. Provide technical support throughout the AIS asset life cycle phases (qualification, installation, and in-service maintenance).
9. Ensure the proper development of projects in economic and operational terms, as well as compliance with defined Red Eléctrica Group practices and internal and external regulations.

We are looking to incorporate an AIS Substation Technician to join the Substations Department team of Red Eléctrica.

Industrial Engineering degree or equivalent accredited experience.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in AIS substations in some of the following areas:
a. Qualification, maintenance, design, and renovation.
b. Incidents/faults in equipment.
c. Preventive and corrective maintenance.
d. Technical support for new substation projects.

Experience in supporting, analyzing, and evaluating FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) procedures as well as routine protocols for HV equipment.

Knowledge of standards applicable to HV equipment and their associated tests.

User-level knowledge of the SAP tool and Asset Management tools for asset management.
Knowledge of SF6 and alternative gases.
Knowledge of high-voltage switchgear, power transformers, protection, and metering equipment will be valued.
Analytical capacity and technical knowledge in the area of sensorization and IoT.
Previous experience in technical and economic project management will be valued.
English level (B2).
Availability for frequent travel (10% - 20%).
