What we're looking for

  • Basic education: Degree or Engineering in Computer Science, Telecommunications, or similar. Solid knowledge in architecture, development, container management, modernization patterns, and obsolescence management.
  • Experience in the Financial Sector: Minimum 5+ years working as an Architect or Lead Engineer in banking or financial technology institutions.
  • Backend Mastery (Core Skills)
  • Java: Solid experience in Spring ecosystems (Boot, Cloud), microservices, and enterprise design patterns.
  • Python: Extensive knowledge in API and service development.
  • Knowledge of .NET: Basic/intermediate conceptual mastery of the .NET ecosystem (.NET Core / C#) for integrations or technical evaluations.
  • Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC): Advanced experience in development methodologies, continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD), containers (Docker, Kubernetes), and Cloud/Hybrid architectures.
  • English: B2 Level.

Nice to have

  • You reside in Barcelona and surroundings.
  • Specific training: Solid training in Architecture and development Methodologies. Design and development of Cloud Native Applications. Desired certifications: Java, Python, container management.
  • Desirable - MCP Servers: Knowledge or experience desirable in the design and generation of MCP Servers (Model Context Protocol) for the integration of Artificial Intelligence tools and contexts.

We are looking for a Backend Development Architect (Barcelona and surroundings) whose main mission will be: To lead the definition, evolution, and supervision of the technical architecture throughout the entire software development life cycle (SDLC) for the financial or banking sector, ensuring that our solutions comply with security, scalability, high availability, and compliance standards based on the Bank's policies.

What you'll do

  • SDLC Architecture and Governance: You will design, define, and supervise software architecture strategies for backend solutions throughout all phases of the SDLC (design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance).
  • Multi-technology Standards Definition: You will lead the technical design and integration patterns for ecosystems based on Java, Python, and Node.js, evaluating and guiding the optional use or coexistence with .NET environments.
  • Delivery Strategy and Management: You will define the roadmap and delivery strategies, ensuring viability, scalability, and response times in projects.
  • Inter-team Management and Communication: You will act as a bridge between the development, infrastructure, security, and business areas. You will communicate complex architecture decisions clearly and effectively.
  • Adoption of Emerging Technologies: You will evaluate and implement advanced integration patterns, including the creation of MCP Servers (Model Context Protocol) to enhance AI/LLM capabilities and interoperability across the organization's platforms.
  • Financial Quality and Security: You will ensure that designs comply with banking regulations, local regulations, data encryption, resilience, and fault tolerance.
