The role

Within the Infrastructure and Operations Directorate, a Platform Engineer is required for the Platform team, responsible for designing, building, and operating internal platforms that enable development teams to deliver software faster, more securely, and more reliably. The role focuses on creating reusable and self-service capabilities that abstract infrastructure complexity, while simultaneously ensuring security, quality, and operational standards.

What you'll do

Operations Automation
- Design and implement end-to-end operations automation: provisioning, deployment, scaling, recovery, and decommissioning.
- Eliminate repetitive manual tasks (toil) through automated workflows.
- Standardize operations using reusable automation patterns.
- Integrate operational automation throughout the entire service lifecycle (Day 0 / Day 1 / Day 2).
- Define executable runbooks and playbooks as code.
Developer Enablement
- Reduce the cognitive load on development teams through automation and standardization.
- Collaborate with product and development teams to identify friction points and improve the developer experience (DevEx).
- Provide reusable documentation, templates, and tools.
CI/CD and Automation
- Design and operate standardized CI/CD pipelines.
- Enable shift-left practices (testing, security, quality).
- Automate operational tasks to reduce manual work (toil).
Reliability, Security, Observability, Remediation and Compliance
- Apply integrated SRE principles to the platform.
- Instrument metrics, logs, and traces by default.
- Define SLOs and automate responses to degradations.
- Design remediation mechanisms based on events and alerts.
- Implement security by design (IAM, secret management, network controls).
- Ensure compliance with corporate, regulatory, and audit policies.

Required experience

Minimum experience of 3 to 5 years in engineering or administration of Microservices-based platforms.
Ability to work in agile environments (Scrum / Kanban).
Skill in collaborating with multiple technical and business areas.
Mindset oriented towards automation, standardization, and continuous improvement.

Required Knowledge

Kubernetes: OpenShift and cloud-native ecosystems.
Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, Ansible, AWX.
CI/CD and GitOps: Tekton, Azure DevOps, ArgoCD, Helm, Bitbucket, and Nexus.
Observability: Dynatrace, ELK, Grafana, and Loki.
Scripting and automation development: Python, Bash.
Middleware: Apache Kafka (Strimzi/AMQ Streams), Red Hat DataGrid, 3Scale API Gateway, and Keycloak.
Security: Kyverno policy-as-code, SealedSecrets, Azure Key Vault, SonarQube, and Prisma Cloud.
Experience in projects using DevOps and Agile methodologies.
Practical knowledge of ALM.
