Senior Claims Handler for Transport/Cargo (Marine & Cargo) and/or Liability (Public Liability)

At Sedgwick Iberia, we are looking to hire a Senior Claims Handler for Transport/Cargo and/or Liability (Public Liability) to join our Madrid team.

The selected candidate will be responsible for the full management of cargo transport and/or public liability claims, ensuring efficient, high-quality handling in accordance with internal procedures and current regulations.

What you'll do

Responsibilities

  • Full management of cargo transport and public liability claims.
  • Opening, analysis, processing, resolution, payment/denial, and closing of claims.
  • Coordination and review of required documentation.
  • Communication with insurers, clients, adjusters, attorneys, and other stakeholders.
  • Coverage analysis and application of policy criteria.
  • Claim resolution (payments/denials).
  • Management of subrogation recoveries from third parties.
  • Monitoring and proper document management within claims handling tools.
  • Preparation of reports and administrative/technical support for the department.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of prior experience in cargo transport and/or public liability claims handling (essential).
  • Knowledge of insurance regulations, especially in public liability and cargo transport.
  • Proficiency in claims management tools.
  • Organized, autonomous profile with a results-oriented approach.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple claims simultaneously.
