About the role

B. Braun Surgical is looking to bring on board an engineer specializing in industrial processes focused on Continuous Improvement to primarily reduce process waste in industrial equipment, within the Maintenance Department at its Rubí facility.

What you'll do

  • Develop and execute the assigned industrial improvement projects, in line with the operational and strategic needs defined by Industrial Operations management.
  • Propose technical and productivity improvements agreed upon with the involved departments (Production, Engineering, Quality, Prevention, etc.).
  • Monitor the implemented improvements.
  • Propose the necessary modifications to Preventive and Corrective Maintenance for production equipment.
  • List the spare parts required to maintain the modifications carried out.
  • Update the documentation for these improvements and train the necessary personnel.
  • Must meet the improvement project schedule, its costs/investments, the agreed final technical solutions, and the regulatory requirements of the application.
  • Monitor the KPIs/Objectives established by the Organization.
  • Carry out and document the projects completed according to internal documentation procedures (project initiation, project justification, budgets and purchase orders, Change Control, Validations, standard operating procedures, training, etc.).

Requirements

  • Industrial Technical Engineer, preferably Mechanical, with experience in process automation.
  • Minimum experience: 5 years in the role; experience in a pharmaceutical environment will be valued.
  • Knowledge in the following areas will be valued:
    • Industrial Automation
    • Vision and Imaging Systems (Cognex)
    • Touchscreens and HMI Systems
    • Pneumatics, Mechanics, Robotics (Staubli, Mitsubishi, ABB, Fanuc, etc.)
    • Conveyor lines and industrial automation systems (AGVs)
    • Statistical tools (Minitab, 6Sigma)
    • SCADA Control Systems (Wincc and Wonderware)
    • Knowledge of various types of machinery: Packaging, Sealing, Printing (DOD, Thermal Transfer, Flexographic)
  • Written and spoken English
  • Availability to travel abroad.
  • Knowledge of SAP and office tools (word processor, spreadsheet, database, etc.).
  • Knowledge of ISO, FDA, OHSAS regulations and Occupational Risk Prevention.
