BBVA's General Secretariat is the area responsible for ensuring the proper functioning of corporate governance, guaranteeing that the Bank's actions align with applicable regulations and the principles of integrity, transparency, and responsibility.

What you'll do
Legal advice to BBVA's governing bodies, particularly in relation to agreements of a financial nature submitted to the General Shareholders' Meeting, the Board of Directors, and its Committees. This will include the preparation and drafting of the corresponding documentation, the review of complementary documentation, and advice on associated legal-financial issues.
Continuous legal-financial advice to the Finance area, especially in transactions and matters related to:
- Capital markets, including issuances of financial and equity instruments in different jurisdictions—including Spain, Ireland, and the United States—as well as the legal structuring of transactions and the preparation and review of the corresponding documentation.
- Securitization transactions of BBVA and other Group companies, both traditional and synthetic.
- Capital and transactions related to shareholder remuneration.
- Regulation of solvency, liquidity, and resolution of credit institutions.
- Treasury operations.
- Legal matters related to investor relations activity.
Monitoring and analysis of regulatory developments, especially regarding capital markets, solvency, and the resolution of credit institutions, evaluating their potential impact for BBVA.
Participation in regulatory consultation and development processes, contributing to the preparation of comments and positions on regulatory proposals through the organizations and associations in which the entity participates, such as AEB, EBF, or AFME.
Coordination with other Group areas and external advisors, working in a multidisciplinary and international environment to respond to transactions and legal matters of high complexity.
