Senior Software Developer – Algorithm Integration & Cloud Deployment

• Degree or master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Fluent English.

• More than 5 years of experience in software development, with a strong command of Python.

• Experience deploying applications on Azure and Databricks, as well as knowledge of distributed systems and data engineering.

• Experience managing repositories with Git and implementing and maintaining branching strategies based on Gitflow for collaborative development.

• Experience maintaining and refactoring existing code, improving its readability without affecting complex functionalities.

• Ability to adapt algorithms to scalable environments, with deep knowledge of task decomposition, algorithm design, and event-driven architectures.

• Design and implementation of highly scalable workloads based on Spark.

• Active participation in code reviews, ensuring compliance with standards and continuous quality improvement of the software.

We are currently looking for a Senior Software Developer – Algorithm Integration & Cloud Deployment to join permanently one of the teams that BETWEEN has deployed at one of our main clients, in a hybrid model (with 1 or 2 remote days) in Bilbao (Bizkaia).

• Transforming advanced algorithms into production-ready applications based on sensor and measurement device data. Combining software engineering and data analysis, ensuring secure, optimized, and scalable solutions in cloud environments.

• You will work in collaboration with data analysis teams, engineering, and internal platforms, being responsible for the execution architecture of deployed applications.

• Design and evolution of the execution architecture, ensuring the integration of algorithms into production processes, in coordination with an international development team.

• Deployment and optimization of solutions on Azure and Databricks, leveraging the capabilities of internal platforms.

• Preparation of algorithms in Python for production, through code cleaning, refactoring, and optimization, ensuring its performance, security, and quality.

• Participation in unit and integration testing, as well as end-to-end testing, verifying the reliability and correct functioning of the code resulting from research.

• Promotion and monitoring of good development practices and standards within the research team.

• Collaboration with data scientists and platform engineers to adapt solutions to corporate architecture and security requirements.

• Advanced command of Python, along with experience in Spark and SQL.

• Knowledge of Azure services, such as Data Lake, Functions, and Event Hub, among others.

• Experience with CI/CD tools, especially Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions.

• Understanding of data science workflows, from model development and validation to deployment.

• Ability to collaborate with data scientists and transform research code into production-ready solutions.
